Through conscious deep breathing and longer held poses, this practice encourages yogis to connect with their innermost self, their emotions and sensations.
Yin Yoga works deeply into the body with passive, longer-held poses. Yin targets your deepest connective tissues - facia, ligaments and joints. The poses you will move through in a yin class help to release tension in the body, reduce stress, enhance range of motion, increase overall flexibility and helps to release stagnant energy being held in the body allowing it to move more freely.

Yin yoga is a wonderful practice for both beginners and long-time yogis.

Our current Fall Schedule offers 10 classes weekly. 🙏 Please contact each instructor individually by email to register for 4 or 6 week sessions and we all offer and welcome single class drop-ins. Also, all of our classes are suitable for all levels of experience and are beginner friendly. We would love to welcome you to the Yellow Dog community, 5 Court St. North Sydney. 💛

Maureen Murphy is a graduate of "My Vinyasa Practice" Studio's 200HR YTT and Meditation program and has been teaching yoga on the Northside for 24 years. Her classes are vinyasa style, flowing movement to release tension and build strength. She often focuses on stretching, twisting and gentle flows to allow for fluid movement which help keep us active as we age. Maureen teaches from the Yellow Dog Studio space at 5 Court St. Her classes are on Monday ,Wednesday and Friday mornings.
