Your Resting Heart Rate (RHR) is the number of times your heart beats per minute when you’re calm and relaxed. And it can reveal a lot about your health.
Normal range for most adults -> 60–100 bpm
Athletes -> sometimes 40–60 bpm (and still healthy!)
A lower resting heart rate can be a sign of good cardiovascular fitness. A consistently higher one may suggest stress, lack of sleep, dehydration, illness, or an underlying condition.
If your resting heart rate is consistently above 100 bpm at rest, or you feel dizzy, weak, or short of breath, you should speak with a healthcare professional.
