In Loving Memory of Sweet Ammi

One year ago, our beloved Ammi completed her race with grace and strength. We rejoice in the assurance that she is now safe in the arms of Jesus, enjoying the eternal peace she so deeply believed in. Heaven celebrates one of the best human beings, now home, embraced by the Savior she faithfully served throughout her life.

We take comfort in the words of Jesus, who said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?" (John 11:25-26 NLT).

Ammi’s life was a testimony of faith, love, and selflessness. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to God and her family. Her legacy continues to inspire us every day, and we celebrate the life she lived—a life marked by her gentle spirit and the warmth she extended to everyone around her.

Though we miss her dearly, we rejoice knowing she is with Jesus forever, where there is no more pain or sorrow, only the fullness of joy in His presence.

We honor you today and always, sweet Ammi. Your love and faithfulness remain with us, and we look forward to the day we will be reunited in our heavenly home.

I found a couple of pictures of my trip to Vancouver in 2001. This was a special trip…the one in which I formally introduced my future wife, Jen, to my parents and to Dillan and Sarah. We had the most special time. And it was so nice to see them, just a few months after they migrated to Vancouver to be with Dillan. Particularly, Ammi and Thaththi had a tough adjustment in Vancouver. Not easy to get use to a whole new country when you’re past 50. However, they didn’t make any excuses. Ammi started a Montessori, after going through a long process (years) to obtain the certification. She started with an infant and a toddler, and Thaththi became her able assistant. It was tough taking care of these children, especially when they added a few more. But Ammi was determined to make it through. It was very special when her first Montessori child contacted me after seeing her obituary. He wanted to come and personally thank Thaththi for what Ammi had poured into his life. He was so touched by her love as she went an extra mile to teach and take care of him. She shared the same love with all the children under her care, just as if they were hers. She devoted over 15 years in caring for these children and making sure they had the best experience. I’m so proud of her for the fight in her. When going got tough, she never folded…she was determined to make it through. Then again, I’m not surprised. I’ve seen the same determination when they navigated through many challenges in life. My life is better for having interacted and loved by Ammi and Thaththi. They are special people and now that Ammi has gone to be with the Lord, I’ve started thanking God for the time we got with her here on earth. Thank you Ammi for going an extra mile (many many miles) to love me and care for me. Your selfless and gentle acts have honored your creator and you have shined the light on God’s love. I’m so happy that you received the trophy you deserved in heaven. Miss you tremendously! ❤️🙏

Last Friday, we celebrated the life of our beloved Ammi with a Home Going Service. It was a beautiful service, it seems like God just sent angels to surround her casket and God himself showed up with words of healing saying “Peace be Still” It’s our loss but heaven gained one more beautiful people.

“That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”

Thank you for warm flowers, meals, heartfelt condolences, encouragements and most of all, prayers over us last week. We are so grateful for lifting us up during this time of loss. We pray a blessing over you and your family! ❤️🙏

Tomorrow, we celebrate homegoing of our sweet mum, Ammi! We rejoice that she finished her race well. It is reassuring to know that she is safe with Jesus now and forever. Heavens rejoice for one of the best human beings, finally home!!
