It’s BC Youth Week! A huge thank you to our incredible Youth Committee, whose hard work, dedication, and initiative has raised an outstanding $81,271 through 11 events over the past year. The funds raised have been invested in the Foundation’s North Shore Lend a Hand Fund which supports vulnerable individuals in our community with chronic health care issues. 💙

Starting at 11:30am, this action-packed event will bring together fun, team building, and some “friendly” competition.

The new Angiography Suite at Lions Gate Hospital just opened! 🎉

Funded by LGH Foundation donors, this incredible milestone was made possible by 1,700 supporters who helped raise $5.2 million for two new, state-of-the-art suites.

Thanks to this generosity, more than 2,000 patients each year will benefit from the new state-of-the-art equipment. 💙

The recently opened West Vancouver Adult Day Centre offers a welcoming and supportive environment for adults experiencing dementia and cognitive decline.

With a range of engaging activities, including arts and crafts, games, baking and more, participants can enjoy meaningful connection, creativity, and a sense of belonging within a community of peers.

The program accommodates up to 20 participants and operates Monday to Friday, from 9:30am to 2:30pm.

A huge thank you to Jenny Karmali and her dedicated team of volunteers for hosting A Celebration of Spring, a Journeys with Heart fundraiser this past weekend in support of North Shore Hospice and the Oncology Clinic at LGH.

With their tireless energy, the support of generous sponsors and guests, plus celebrity chef Bruno Feldeisen, media trail-blazer and emcee Pamela Martin, and singer Jane Mortifee, the event was a tremendous success, raising an incredible $25,000 to help patients and their families.

Four years ago, our donors did something incredible - they helped raise $5.2 million to build two new angiography (Interventional Radiology) suites. Construction on the first suite is now complete and Dr. Mark Madden is leading staff training sessions in the gleaming new unit. The new suits will officially open in a couple of weeks. What an incredible transformation!

Thanks to generous donors including the Women’s Giving Circle, the Emergency and Surgery Departments at LGH recently received four new electric stretchers.

With integrated scales and bed exit alarms, these advanced stretchers are already making a meaningful difference for pre and post operative patients by helping ensure more accurate and efficient patient assessments while also enhancing patient safety.
