The Pediatric, Postpartum and Labour & Delivery units recently received 32 new sleeper chairs which are longer, wider, easier to move and convert into beds. These additions will make overnight stays more comfortable for parents and visitors alike.

From fishing near Tofino to waking up in the hospital after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke, Tanya Mah was faced with an unknown future. Following a three-month stay at GF Strong in Vancouver to receive intensive rehab, Tanya was relieved to start specialized outpatient rehab at LGH.

Though Tanya is grateful for the dedicated care she received at GF Strong, her road to recovery highlights the importance of local and personalized care right here on the North Shore.

The Re-Imagine Rehab Campaign will ensure patients like Tanya with stroke or brain injury as well as patients with traumatic injuries or debilitating illness have better access to local care. To learn more, click the link below.

Lions Gate Hospital needs more intensive rehab beds to provide timely support for patients recovering from strokes and other neurological incidents, surgeries, traumatic injuries and debilitating illness.

When patients get the intensive rehab right when they need it, they make faster recoveries and can expect better long-term outcomes.

We are the fundraising arm of Lions Gate Hospital and all the publicly funded health-care facilities and programs across the North Shore.

It is thanks to the tireless efforts of our many volunteers that the Foundation is so successful in raising the funds needed to purchase medical equipment and support facility upgrades. From participating in community events and office projects to organizing golf tournaments and selling Christmas cards, our team of volunteers continues to help us make a difference – and for that we’re grateful.
