We are thrilled to share that this April, Capilano University announced a new Student Housing Bursary at their President's Circle Dinner. Established with founding donor Jeri Krogseth, LL.D. (honoris causa), this initiative is part of CapU's efforts to expand affordable on-campus housing options for students.

Access to secure housing is a key part of succeeding in higher education — and this bursary will give students the foundation they need to focus on what matters most.

Neptune Terminals is proud to support and celebrate initiatives like this one that create more accessible opportunities for students across the North Shore. Stay tuned for more updates.

A great initiative for new and expecting parents on the North Shore.
Thank you District of North Vancouver Firefighters Charitable Society for this program and for the work you do in the community.

We’re excited to launch a new initiative offering free first aid training and education for new and expecting parents on the North Shore.

Led by our off-duty Firefighters and certified first aid instructors, attendees will receive one hour of hands-on practice in infant CPR and choking response.

The goal of this community-focused initiative is to equip parents and caregivers with the skills and confidence to respond to a child’s airway emergency before first responders arrive. When seconds matter, being prepared can make all the difference.

No first aid background required.
Free of charge.
Open to participants aged 16+.

Session Details
📅 April 27
🕖 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
📍 Delbrook Rec Centre – Fir Room

Every year, Earth Day is a reminder of our shared responsibility to protect the planet we all call home.

At Neptune, that commitment is part of how we operate every day. From reducing emissions to conserving water, and most recently through our habitat enhancement work at the Lynn Creek Estuary, including bull kelp planting in partnership with UBC, we are dedicated to minimizing our environmental impact wherever we can. As a Green Marine certified terminal since 2012 — the first on Canada's West Coast — we are committed to operating responsibly and caring for the environment we share with our community.

We’re also proud to support organizations doing important work to protect and restore our local environment, including North Shore Streamkeepers, Edible Garden Project, veritree, and the Seymour Salmonid Society.

We encourage you to learn more about the important work they do for our local ecosystems

This Earth Day, let's commit to making every day count for our planet.

This National Volunteer Week, we want to recognize and thank the incredible volunteers who power the local organizations across the North Shore with whom we are proud to partner and stand alongside.

From youth sports to community services, food distribution, mentoring, environmental stewardship, mental health, and education — the work they do every day strengthens our community and builds the resilience that makes the North Shore such a special place to live and work.

To the parent volunteers keeping youth sports thriving, and to those who show up behind the scenes and contribute to bringing each organization's mission to life — thank you for your commitment, for giving back, and for reminding us that every act truly leads to meaningful impact.

Proud to recognize and support the volunteers behind these organizations:

Yesterday, the Neptune team was back on the streets for the 42nd Vancouver Sun Run.

This year was especially meaningful, marking our largest team since first joining the race in 2019. We’re proud of everyone who participated and embraced the community spirit of the event.

Every fourth Thursday, a Coffee Mornings program for seniors is hosted by MONOVA: Museum & Archives of North Vancouver. This is a monthly mixer featuring guest talks, behind-the-scenes tours, and cultural activities.

This month's session on April 23 has a special North Shore connection — attendees will hear stories from shipyard workers who helped build Victory Ships at Burrard Dry Dock during WW2.

Neptune Terminals is proud to support this program and help create spaces for seniors to connect and share in the history and culture of the North Shore.

Registration is open and drop-ins are welcome. Link in the first comment.

The countdown is on — 45 days until the 15th Annual Rotary Ride for Rescue, a community event that brings together cyclists on Cypress Mountain in support of organizations that make a meaningful difference in the North Shore community, and one that Neptune is proud to support.

This year also marks a milestone for Brent Williston, Manager of Procurement at Neptune Terminals, as he takes part in the ride for the 10th time. When asked what keeps him coming back, he says three things: “the camaraderie of the team we put together, the physical challenge, and supporting a worthwhile cause.”

As a North Shore resident, being part of the event goes beyond the ride itself. “It means I get the opportunity to be actively involved in an important community event that benefits many people,” he says. “You get swept up in the positive energy — being amongst fellow riders is inspiring to keep going.”

The 15th Annual Rotary Ride for Rescue takes place on Saturday, May 30, 2026, on Cypress Mountain. Registration is open — link in the first comment.

Today is National Living Donor Day — a day to recognize the extraordinary generosity of those who choose to give the gift of life.

At Neptune, we know firsthand the meaning of being a living donor. Our President, Megan Owen-Evans, is a two-time living organ donor, anonymously donating a kidney in 2013 and two-thirds of her liver in 2022, moved by a deep belief in the difference one person can make in another's life.

As she shared in a 2019 interview with BC Transplant: "It feels special knowing that I made somebody's quality of life better. I love sharing my story and what motivated me to donate anonymously because it allows me to educate people on being a living donor."

As a member of the Living Donor Circle of Excellence, Neptune Terminals is committed to supporting employees who choose to become living donors by covering lost wages during testing, surgery, and recovery — because financial uncertainty should never stand in the way of someone choosing to donate.

With over 600 British Columbians currently waiting for a transplant, every donor makes a difference. Learn more through the link in the first comment.

Take a look at one of our shiploaders in action — moving steelmaking coal into the vessel's cargo holds via a system of conveyor belts.

Once coal trains are unloaded on site, the coal is either stockpiled or moved directly onto conveyor belts by large machines called stacker reclaimers, which feed the shiploaders at the berth.

Neptune operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — and on average, it takes about three days to load a steelmaking coal vessel.
