THE SOULMATE FORMULA
There is a way to distinguish the difference between lust, infatuation, being 'in love' and the deepest possible connection to what has been called our 'Soulmate'.
Love by itself is not enough. It's called a relationship not a loveship. For it to go the distance, we have to relate to each other on many levels.
To find that one-in-a-million connection we can either hope we get lucky, or we can be more aware just how many things need to fit for us to experience the magic of a twin flame.
1. THE SPARK
That magic has to be there. We need that indescribable connection at a soul level, that 'something' that makes us light up every time they walk in the room.
2. CHEMISTRY
The spark can exist with our friends, even our kids - chemistry is different. Chemistry is a quality that starts a fire when they touch us, when we think about them and makes us forget ourselves for a moment when we see their text, get their call or they walk across the room.
3. BUTTERFLIES
The most incredible relationships are those where both feel like they've outdone themselves, like they're so lucky to have found such an ideal match for their quirks, unique tastes and odd little habits.
It's an ongoing feeling of disbelief that someone is thrilled with even the thing about us that get on everyone else's nerves, that the things we like doing are the things they appreciate most and vice versa.
4. COMPATIBILITY
Feelings are great, they're magical, they're what creates a sense of bliss, but day-to-day life demands another dynamic, and we notice this most around our partner's money handling, parenting choices and interaction with extended family. If these aren't a natural fit for us the stress builds quickly and implodes even the most passionate love affairs.
5. A SHARED VISION
To last for decades, a relationship requires a shared vision. This is the quality that makes it obvious as to where we each work harder or sacrifice for a common goal rather than feeling like we're giving up something for another person.
Sacrificing for a shared vision doesn't feel anything like giving up something we want just to accommodate our partner's preference. A shared vision is where compatibility of life purposes shows up and is one of the most elusive of all qualities to find.
A MAN MUST KNOW HIS PURPOSE
Women look for a man who they are attracted to, can trust and who adores them. Men have a different approach to relationship than women. Men are seeking an ideal match to their purpose, often without even being conscious that they are doing this because they aren't aware of what their purpose is or even that they have one.
Until a man has identified his purpose, conquered his fears and is living his vision he doesn't have the capacity to connect on all 5 levels. Often a woman sees a man's potential and believse in his purpose before he does and she partners with him thinking that her support and belief in him can make up the difference - it can't.
The Soulmate Formula requires maturity that few people have the patience for, but the only alternative is settling because we weren't prepared to do the work or wait for someone who is both highly conscious AND compatible.
We're born with an urge to partner and procreate, but we've evolved past that. Our purpose is more than the survival of the species, our purpose now is to improve the world we live in.
How worth it then, to wait for the one who shares the same vision that we have and who is also the same one that makes our heart race.
