Our Story
Saltwonder - Himalayan Salt Cave located in North Vancouver is the first man made Himalayan Salt Facility in British Columbia.
Salt therapy, also known as Halotherapy, is relatively new in Canada, but has a long history in Eastern Europe as a complementary/alternative therapy. It provides a 100% safe, drug-free, non-invasive, and natural remedy for allergies, skin and respiratory illnesses. Halotherapy involves a series of sessions in a man-made salt cave which reproduces the unique micro-climate found in natural salt caves and mines. Studies show that this natural procedure creates a curative effect on breathing conditions and symptoms such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, sinusitis, shortness of breath, chest tightness, coughs, respiratory allergies, rhinitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, colds, influenza and smoking related coughs. Salt therapy sessions significantly reduce stress and anxiety, regulate sleep patterns, and enhance concentration while fostering feelings of relaxation and satisfaction. The simulated natural salt mine/cave micro-climate also slows signs of aging, smooths out wrinkles, and reduces acne. Over 20 tons of the world’s purest Himalayan Pink Salt were used to build the Salt Cave and Salt rooms, and recreate the environment of a salt cave that naturally occur in different parts of the world. A specially designed last generation halo-generator is used to disperse dry saline aerosol from the natural Himalayan Crystal Salt, which guarantees maximum healing intensity and effectiveness. Practicing breath work, yoga, meditation or just relaxing in the salt cave allows microscopic particles of salt pe*****te deep into the lungs and sinuses, cleansing them of excess secretions and environmental toxins. We created a beautiful and functional space with a peaceful ambiance, tasteful design, dim light and relaxing music, visitors have seen nothing like it.
