Halifax..NCT 2026…A room full of people who care deeply about this profession. 💙

CCA CEO Dr. Ayla Azad opened the weekend with this from Adam Kahane and it set the tone for everything:

“A system produces the results it produces because the people within it continue playing the roles they have always played. Radical engagement starts with acknowledging where we are: accepting and taking responsibility for the roles we play and for those we need to play not just doing what is expected of us, or whatever we like. We become part of the solution by becoming aware of how we are part of the problem and acting accordingly.”

Learnings that stayed with me:

📌 Every time you walk into a room , bring two others with you.
📌 The next time you face a question you can’t answer, lean in. It might change your life.
📌 Pass the baton on stronger than you received it.

One of the best part of conferences is reconnecting with old friends and making new ones.

Thank you Halifax and the incredible team for organizing and hosting another great convention!

Dr. Jabeen is in Halifax and will return to patient care on Monday May 4.

Conversations That Stay With Me!

Another week of real conversations with my patients. The kind that don’t get talked about enough.

A few reminders that are staying with me:

•If you can make peace with uncertainty, you’ve found your superpower.

•You cannot make another person happy. That’s an inside job.

•The sun is underrated medicine. Get outside.

•Every 3–4 months, give yourself permission to stop and regroup. It’s not a luxury — it’s maintenance.

•Lead with kindness. It takes more strength than most people realize.

Have a great week!

The BC government is accepting public feedback right now and your voice matters.

That’s it. Two minutes. Real impact.

Here’s why it matters:

When I determine a patient needs an X-ray, I can’t order it. I have to send them back to a GP for the requisition. Then once the X-ray is done, the patient has to return to the GP for the report before it ever gets back to me.

That’s two extra appointments, weeks of delay, and a patient who isn’t getting the treatment they need.

This is the bottleneck. And it’s entirely preventable.

✅ We have the training.
✅ We have the expertise.

Send a quick email to PROREGADMIN@gov.bc.ca and tell them you support BC chiropractors being able to directly refer patients for imaging through MSP.

Thank you for your support. If you have any questions, please DM me.

My patients — we need your voice. 💛

The BC government is accepting public feedback on healthcare scope changes right now, and the deadline is March 31, 2026.

What we’re asking for is the ability to directly refer our patients for imaging through BC’s public healthcare system, MSP.

Chiropractors undergo a minimum of 7 years of post-secondary education, including over 400 hours dedicated to diagnostic imaging (X-ray, CT, and MRI). We are permitted and regulated to take imaging in our own clinics, or refer patients to private imaging clinics, yet we cannot directly refer you to publicly funded radiologists through MSP.

This creates unnecessary delays in your treatment and requires extra visits to your family doctor (if you have one) or a walk-in clinic, just to get a referral for something we are already trained and qualified to do.

If you’re willing to take 2 minutes, please send a quick email to PROREGADMIN@gov.bc.ca and tell them you support BC chiropractors having the ability to directly refer patients for imaging through MSP. Your voice matters. 🤍

Please DM or email me directly if you have any questions.

Why does getting an X-ray require two appointments when you’re already seeing your Chiropractor?

Chiropractors are extensively trained in diagnostic imaging, yet under current BC policy, we still can’t directly refer our patients for X-rays under MSP. That means patients have to book a separate family doctor appointment just to get a requisition, creating delays, extra visits, and added pressure on an already stretched primary care system.

The numbers speak for themselves: allowing chiropractors to direct refer to radiologists under MSP could save the BC government $4 million dollars and eliminate 100,000 unnecessary GP visits every year.

Better pathways. Less red tape. Faster access to care.

⏰ This Sunday, clocks spring forward one hour. And for those of us in BC, this is the last time we will do this.

Starting March 8, 2026, BC moves to permanent daylight saving time. Come November, our clocks stay where they are.
Here’s what to expect this week as your body adjusts:

😴 Sleep: You may feel a little tired Monday. your body needs a few days to sync up. Be gentle with yourself and prioritize rest.

❤️ Heart & Circulation: Your body works hard during any shift in rhythm. Support it with extra hydration and nourishing meals.

🧠 Mood & Energy: Morning light is your best friend right now. Getting outside early helps stabilize your serotonin and keep your energy steady throughout the day.

🚗 On the road: Give yourself a little extra time Monday morning and stay mindful behind the wheel.

A few ways to support your body this weekend:

✔ Go to bed 30 min earlier tonight and tomorrow night
✔ Get outside for morning sunlight on Sunday
✔ Keep screens off before bed
✔ Stay hydrated and move your body

The good news is this adjustment is temporary. Your body will settle in, and before long the longer evenings will feel like a gift.
