TheraBounce is turning 6! 💙

For the past six years, we’ve had the privilege of creating inclusive, accessible, and meaningful movement experiences for people of all ages and abilities through trampoline. We’re so excited to celebrate this milestone with the wonderful community we’ve built!

Join us for an evening of food, speakers, sensory-friendly activities, movement stations, connection, and celebration as we reflect on the past six years and look ahead to the future of TheraBounce. This event is designed for the whole family, with activities and accommodations to support a wide range of ages, interests, and abilities.

This celebration is also in support of the JP Fund — a fund created to help families access TheraBounce services when financial barriers might otherwise limit participation. Through the JP Fund, we’re able to continue creating opportunities for more individuals and families to access supportive movement, therapy, and recreation experiences. If you can’t attend, consider making a donation to help us offer our services to families in need.

We would love for your family to celebrate with us and be part of this special evening 💙

May is EDS & HSD Awareness Month! 🤍🖤

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD) affect connective tissue and can impact joint stability, muscle strength, coordination, endurance, digestion, and overall body awareness. Connective tissue plays an important role throughout the body, meaning many individuals experience challenges that extend far beyond hypermobility alone.

For many people with EDS and HSD, stability is a major area of concern. When joints are less stable, the body has to work harder to maintain posture, control movement, and respond to everyday physical demands. Movement can be an important tool in supporting postural control, dynamic stability, strength, and coordination — but it’s equally important that movement feels safe, adaptable, and supportive of the individual’s needs.

On a trampoline, the body is constantly making small adjustments to stay balanced and controlled in response to the movement and unstable surface. Whether someone is sitting, standing, actively bouncing, or being bounced, the muscles are continuously responding and stabilizing. Over time, this can help support balance, body awareness, core activation, endurance, and the dynamic stability needed to better support the joints.

At TheraBounce, movement and environments can always be modified and adapted to meet each participant where they’re at. Whether someone requires more support, a lower demand activity, or a different way to access movement altogether, our approach is always individualized and aligned with each person’s unique needs and goals.

This EDS & HSD Awareness Month, we’re continuing to raise awareness around the many ways connective tissue disorders and hypermobility can impact daily life, while also recognizing the importance of accessible movement opportunities.

Some children struggle at camp, but it’s not because they don’t want to participate. Often, it’s that the environment doesn’t match what they need.

Large groups, fast transitions, unstructured activities, and limited support can make it difficult for some children to feel regulated, and able to engage. When the demands of the environment outweigh the supports in place, participation becomes harder.

At TheraBounce, we take a different approach.

Our Day Camp is designed with intention — with smaller group sizes, a higher staff-to-camper ratio, and flexible, responsive support. Activities are adaptable, pacing can be adjusted, and campers are supported in ways that align with their individual needs, interests, and abilities.

Movement is also used as a foundation to support regulation, attention, and engagement. We offer varying levels of therapeutic support at different locations, ensuring each child has the level of care they need — whether they’re working toward specific goals or simply enjoying the experience of camp.

Every child deserves the opportunity to participate fully and feel successful. With the right environment and support, we see kids build confidence and experience camp in a way that is meaningful to them — and we love being part of that process 💙

Movement on the trampoline doesn’t look the same for everyone, and that’s the point!

There are so many ways to engage with the trampoline depending on a person’s abilities and goals. Each position or type of jump creates a different opportunity to build strength, coordination, balance, and body awareness. Movement isn’t one size fits all, we find what works for you!

Some examples of different types of jumps include:
• High kneeling
• 4-point kneeling
• Kangaroo jumps
• Varying levels of supported jumps (holding rings, noodles, bolster, etc.)
• Independent jumps

By adapting positions, support, and movement patterns, we’re able to meet each individual where they’re at — creating the right level of challenge while still prioritizing participation and success.

At TheraBounce, our focus is always on individualized movement. Whether someone is just getting started or building toward more advanced skills, every variation has value and purpose.💙

The early years are a critical time for development, and the right movement experiences can help build a strong foundation from the very beginning.

Our Parent & Tot Therapeutic Trampolining Group is designed for infants (6–18 months), combining guided movement, play, and caregiver education in a supportive, engaging environment led by Jenn, TheraBounce founder and Registered Physiotherapist.

Through gentle trampoline exploration and parent-guided activities, we support:
• strength, coordination, and postural control
• balance and body awareness
• sensory processing and regulation
• early motor milestones like rolling, sitting, crawling, and standing

Just as importantly, caregivers gain hands-on strategies to support their child’s development beyond the session, making everyday movement at home more intentional and meaningful.

📆 Bi-weekly Wednesdays
📍 TheraBounce Markham - 360 John St.
🕑 10:30am-11:30am - focused on 12-18 month development
🕔 11am-12pm - focused on 6-12 month development

Early support doesn’t just build skills — it builds confidence, connection, and a strong foundation for what comes next 💙

Introducing Nikola, the newest addition to the TheraBounce team!

“My name is Nikola Urosevic and I began working at TheraBounce as a Physiotherapy Resident since January 2026. I have had the pleasure of working within a variety of group and individual sessions.

Outside of a TheraBounce I work as a Physiotherapy Resident at Paediatric Physiotherapy Associates, helping a wide array of children reach their goals, and having fun along the way!

My favorite part of working within the TheraBounce team is the emphasis on keeping the spirit of play at the forefront of our sessions, while still achieving all our goals!”

Nikola will be working at our North York location on Wednesday afternoons and evenings, as well as Thursday evenings.

In addition to 1:1 physiotherapy sessions, Nikola will also be running our new Dynamic Training Group for hockey players & figure skaters running biweekly on Wednesday evenings.
