For this week, we celebrated Passover with a musical celebration featuring Mickey Lewin. Residents hosted family Seders. The menu featured matzah ball soup, gifilte fish with matza, roasted chicken and coconut macaroons. Passover commemorates the Israelites liberation from slavery in ancient Egypt. Rabbi Landa shared the stories and traditions of Passover and highlighted the significance of this High Holiday.

The population in Willowdale is 120000, similar to the population of Kingston Ontario. In Kingston they have 12 Councillors and we have 1. In 2022, Lily Cheng was elected Toronto Councillor of Ward 18 Willowdale. She is busy and the next Election is set for Oct 26. Lily sits on the board of numerous important committees, she is top 3 in the 166 mentions, and stopped for a breakfast meeting at Delmanor Northtown. She shared updates on property developments and the building projects put on ice in the area, trees, cameras to detect potholes for repair, a new dog park, and to hear about changes our seniors want to see.

Ann’s very creative granddaughter made this special Easter gift for her! It is nice to walk down the halls at Delmanor Northtown and see pretty door decorations. This one was crafted with care and small details. It was perfect for this season!

100th birthdays are so very special. Fred walked down the hall through a line of clapping staff, into the lounge filled with fellow residents, friends, and multiple generations of his family! It was lovely party with singing, entertainment cake and champagne. Turning 100 is not just about the number - it represents a century of life, memories, experiences and legacy!

Wheel-trans service is available within the City of Toronto and up to one kilometre into the adjacent regions of York, Durham and Peel. Deidre Richards gave a helpful information session at Delmanor Northtown. She answered many questions around who qualifies for the service, temporary eligibility after surgery, how payment is made, the application process, best booking practices, traveller training and how to reach customer service.

🍀You had the luck of Irish with you today, if you had the pleasure of enjoying the live entertainment at Delmanor Northtown St Patrick’s Day celebration. The Blazing Fiddles, who have held summer long residency for over a decade at the Grand Rivers Dinner Cruise, played an energetic show. Residents were able to enjoy Irish beverages and refreshments in their very own on site “local pub”!
