DID YOU KNOW: DYSTONIA is a movement disorder that cause muscles to contract involuntarily. This can present as twisting motions or other abnormal movements and pain. Focal Dystonia is abnormal movement of one part of the body. Some examples include Cervical (neck) Dystonia, Blepharospasm (eyelids blinking), Oromandibular Dystonia (jaw/tongue), Laryngeal (vocal) or activity induced such as Writer's or Musician's Dystonia.
Treatment includes oral medication, physical therapy and neurotoxin injection to affected muscles.
