Paterson Wellness Judith Paterson is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with a passion for workplace wellness and supporting people in designing meaningful lives

Welcome! I’m Judith Paterson, a registered social worker and psychotherapist dedicated to guiding individuals toward balance, confidence, and calm. My professional journey has been unique. After spending a significant portion of my career as a business leader, I transitioned into the field of mental wellness, driven by a passion for helping others navigate their personal and professional challenges. As a certified clinical ADHD services provider, I specialize in supporting clients living with adult ADHD. Additionally, my background as a business leader enables me to effectively assist clients experiencing workplace issues. This combination of expertise provides me with a unique perspective on both ADHD and workplace dynamics, allowing me to address the specific challenges in each area effectively. I employ a light-hearted and collaborative approach to therapy, utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and structured problem-solving. My goal is to support clients in enhancing their mental wellness and creating meaningful, fulfilling lives. I offer online counseling services to clients across Ontario, making support accessible no matter where you are. I’m here to help you find solutions and achieve your goals.

Burnout is showing up everywhere right now, and most people don’t realize the early signs until they’re already in survival mode. I put this short carousel together to explain what actually drives burnout and what small, realistic changes help you recover without stepping away from work. If any of this feels familiar, you’re not alone. PatersonWellness.com

We’ve always known that spending time outdoors feels good - but research now shows it actually changes your brain, body, and mood. From lower stress hormones to stronger immune function, time in nature is one of the most effective forms of self-care available.

I wrote a new blog post about the science behind forest bathing and simple ways to bring more nature into your life - even if you live in the city.

You can read it here:

You’ve likely noticed your mood lift after a walk in nature. Most people I talk to list going for a walk as one of the first items on their self-care lists. There might be more to the magic of walks than just a change in scenery.Scientists have been studying what happens to our brains and bodies w...

Feeling tired? Low? Foggy-brained? You’re not alone. I’m right there with you. This post is for those of us navigating perimenopause or menopause while also managing our work lives. It’s encouraging to see more conversation about this stage of life on social media and greater attention from health practitioners. But one piece that often gets overlooked is the impact on our mental health and that’s what I want to talk about here.

I'm reposting this article as a few people have asked me about it recently. A while back I noticed a trend in mid to senior level women seeking therapy for stress related to bullying in the workplace. They told me that when they spoke to friends or family they found others experiencing the same issue. I researched it and found that the group that experiences the most bullying in the workplace is women over 40. If this is you, you don't need to do this alone. This type of stress can affect our judgment, our performance, and our lives outside of work. Talking with a therapist who understands workplace bullying, stress, and communication is a very supportive and effective way to take your power back and determine steps forward.

Workplace bullying doesn’t always look the way we expect. It’s not always loud, obvious, or coming from a manager. In fact, it often flies under the radar—especially when the person being bullied holds a senior position or is seen as successful, confident, or competent. If you’re a leader, ma...

I’m seeing more and more people spending their time watching, listening to, or reading about how others live—often more than they spend living their own lives. Sometimes this spirals into chasing fixes to “be better,” which only fuels those unhelpful feelings of not being good enough. Break the cycle. Focus on what makes life meaningful for you. If you want to explore that together, reach out.

In a world flooded with podcasts, books, and TikTok gurus promising a better version of you, it’s easy to feel like you’re falling behind if you're not constantly optimizing every moment of your life. But here’s the paradox: the more self-help content we consume, the more anxious, inadequate, ...
