As a psychodynamic psychotherapist, my approach is rooted in understanding the deep, often unconscious processes that shape your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. We’ll explore not just your present concerns but how past experiences, especially early relationships, continue to influence your current life. This form of therapy looks at patterns in your relationships, ways you defend against painful feelings, and unconscious conflicts. The goal is to bring these into awareness, which can help you gain insight into yourself and make meaningful changes.
We’ll take time to explore your emotions in depth, and I’ll pay attention to things like recurring themes or the ways you avoid certain topics. The relationship between us, called the therapeutic alliance, is also key. Often, the dynamics we observe between us in therapy may mirror patterns you experience in other relationships, giving us rich material to work with. My role is to help you reflect on these processes, to achieve gradual change and healing.
