Sometime I have to remind myself to breathe. #1. Completely exhale through the mouth counting to 4.
#2. Close your mouth and calmly inhale through your nose, counting to 4.
#3. Hold your breath, counting mentally to 4.
#4. Exhale through the mouth counting to 4.
#5. This is one breath. Now repeat the cycle three more times. Square breathing takes just a few minutes out of each day to bring yourself to a state of calm, wellness and balance. This technique is a simple, practical relaxation method for anyone.

Ramadan began yesterday, Wednesday, March 22 and ends on Friday, April 21. Ramadan is a floating holiday that shifts by approximately ten days each year. In Islamic culture, Ramadan is the most sacred month of the year. For Muslims, it is a time for spiritual growth, introspection, charitable giving, and family time. Also, it is a period when Muslims worldwide observe the entire month of Ramadan by fasting during the day.

Muslims seek spiritual advancement and a better relationship with Allah and their loved ones during Ramadan. Between sunrise and sunset each day, they fast and refrain from enjoying pleasures like drinking, smoking, and having s*x. Muslims pray, recite the Quran, and do good deeds throughout Ramadan, a time of unity and spiritual reflection. They avoid dishonesty, gossiping, and feuding, giving to charities and spending time with their loved ones. As a symbol of unity, Ramadan is when Muslims worldwide come together to celebrate their faith.

Every year on March 21, people worldwide mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. On that day in 1960, South African police opened fire on a nonviolent protest against the apartheid laws at Sharpeville, resulting in 69 fatalities and 180 injuries.
This clear message has the potential to be a powerful motivation for people all across the world to raise their voices against racism, unite against all manifestations of racial injustice, and create a space where those who speak out are safe. It can include people and populations from all over the world and lends itself to telling personal interest stories. It advocates the removal of racism and other forms of discrimination worldwide.

International Women's Day, observed annually on March 8, serves as a central focus for the women's rights movement and raises awareness of gender equality, women's rights, and violence and abuse against women. International Women's Day is marked annually on March 8 to honour women's social, economic, cultural, and political accomplishments worldwide. The day also emphasizes a call to action for increasing gender parity and defining plans and objectives to meet these aspirations. To all the amazing women, Happy Women's Day! Be bright. Including today and every day! Every woman on the earth is honoured today.

Michelle Obama- "There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish."

Some of the best ways to do this are to talk to a therapist who encourages open and honest dialogue about issues that cause you distress. Through your relationship with your therapist, you'll work to identify and understand how these stressors impact your life and develop strategies to manage the symptoms. Individual therapy aims to inspire change and improve quality of life through self-awareness and self-exploration. So, it can help you improve your communication skills, help you feel empowered, develop fresh insights about your life, learn how to make better and healthier choices and develop coping strategies to manage distress.

The process of therapy, also known as psychotherapy or counselling, consists of meeting with a therapist to resolve problematic behaviours, beliefs, feelings, relationship issues, and physical responses as sensations in the body. Mental health is a problem that many people struggle with silently. Mental health and therapy still carry such a stigma in society. People do not regularly talk openly about mental health issues or the need to ask for help when they are struggling. It is okay to ask for help. The act of talking about mental health and counselling, whether in a deep way with trusted members or casually in other settings, reduces stigma in our society and increases the likelihood of people reaching out to one another when they need help; reducing social stigma also requires normalization of therapy and mental health issues in the public discourse with others.

Anger is normal for everyone, but if a person feels angry most of the time or their temper tends to flare up quickly, anger could be an issue for others involved. As with every emotion, anger is complex. The experience of anger can range from mild annoyance to rage points and vary for each person and situation. Stress at home, school or work can also make people quicker to anger. People can learn to identify and express anger and other emotions of their feelings in healthy and constructive ways. The best way to manage it is to identify the possible solutions and take some time to cool down and talk it out afterward.

Feast of the Nativity occurs today; the original Latin names for Christmas are "Festum Nativitatis Domini Nostri Jesu Christi" (Feast of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ) and "Dies Natalis Domini" (Birthday of Our Lord). The traditional meals served on Christmas Eve and Day reflect those countries' cultures. The recreation of the birth of Christ, featuring people dressed as Mary, Joseph and the shepherds, was meant to bring the Bible to life for a population of believers who were not literate. Some observers bring a branch into their homes on Feast Day. This symbolizes Jesus entering their home and hearts. People greet each other with the traditional greeting of "Christ is born!" and respond, "Glorify Him!" Then, the bread present at the feast will be torn and shared with everyone. Some families have straws scattered at their table as a reminder of Jesus' birth in the manger. Orthodox Christians and others celebrate the Nativity of Jesus on the Feast of the Nativity. It ranks next to the most incredible holiday, the Resurrection of Jesus.

December 17th is Anti-Bullying Day; for this occasion, Services for Older Adults and the Canadian Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse are teaming up to announce an Anti-Bullying Campaign to help raise awareness of bullying among older adults. Traditionally, bullying awareness and prevention activities have been aimed at younger generations, even though bullying occurs throughout life and in areas where people congregate regularly. Bullying (also called harassment) occurs when a person or group of people hurts, threatens, or scares another, intentionally or unintentionally. It is usually a repeated pattern of behaviours; people who experience bullying often have difficulty defending themselves. The underlying causes of bullying may be impacted by, Loneliness and social isolation, compounded losses (ex. Loss of loved ones, family home, community, independence, mobility changes, mental health, and well-being. Creating a supportive community environment where people are comfortable identifying and challenging bullying behaviours is vital to Canadians' overall health and quality of life.
