I want to share something important about "therapeutic grade" essential oils.

This term actually has no regulatory backing from Health Canada or the FDA. It's a marketing term—not an official quality standard.

Even "Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade" (CPTG) is a trademarked term owned by one company, not an independent certification.

Here's what I find fascinating: all pure essential oils are inherently therapeutic by their nature. That's simply what they are.

What I focus on instead:

• Latin botanical name

• Country of origin

• Independent GC/MS testing

• Transparent sourcing

• Proper extraction methods

I'm sharing this because I believe we all deserve to make informed choices based on facts, not marketing language.

This trend is not a prank. My mother lives with low vision and her lived experience is not content. Stop pretending blindness is entertainment — I am not on TikTok as I have a low opinion of it. This kind of "entertainment" reduces sight loss to a joke and reinforces pity-based stereotypes. Pretending to be blind misrepresents real challenges and accommodations and spreads harmful misinformation. Using children to perform these stunts exploits them and normalizes disrespectful behavior. Blind creators and advocates experience emotional harm and erasure when their reality is trivialized. Choose dignity over views; amplify disabled voices, not imitations.
