A temperature of greater than 38 degrees C or 100 degrees F is considered a fever. Fevers are usually not a cause for alarm, particularly if your child is alert and responsive.

⚠️ However you should contact your child’s health care provider if:

• The child is less than 3 months old

• The child is between 3 and 6 months with a temperature of 38.9 or higher or if the child is unusually fussy, sluggish or uncomfortable

• The child, regardless of age, is listless, confused and does not maintain eye contact with you

• Vomits repeatedly, has a severe headache, sore throat, stomach ache, ear ache or other significant discomfort

• Has a fever lasting longer than two days

• Has a seizure – call 911

➡️ Acetaminophen or ibuprofen will help to reduce the fever and make your child more comfortable. Follow the directions on the label to make sure you are giving the right dose for your child’s age and weight.

What is an asthma attack?⬇️

An asthma attack occurs when the muscles surrounding the airways tighten and your airways become too narrow for you to breathe effectively.

An attack can happen suddenly if your asthma is not under control and you are exposed to one of your triggers. Or, it can build up slowly over hours, days or even weeks.
