Our very own Dr. Alex Lee has launched his new Research Matters hub, where you’ll find out about advancements in chiropractic research. This includes new knowledge translation (KT) tools, and how the OCA is supporting research efforts. Research Matters kicks off this week with an in-depth look at the incredible research work of OCA members like Dr. Alex Lee.

Dr. Lee’s mission is to increase the research capacity of Canadian chiropractors working in sport, caring for athletes. “Sport permeates chiropractic care,” says Dr. Lee. “It’s important that we do the best we can in treating athletes and supporting their goals using the best available research evidence.” In his interview, Dr. Lee talks about his research focus, goals, and how his research team’s work is helping to advance the profession.

The end of the year is soon approaching and we wanted to share this tip with you.

Many people do not realize that most health insurance benefit plans expire at the end of December & reset in January. If it expires, you might accidentally let hundreds or even thousands of dollars worth of benefits go to waste.😳

Your benefit plans are a part of your salary and not using them is like giving the insurance company back a large part of your pay.
While treatment is never dictated by insurance, if you or your family members have any treatment that remains to be completed or you have any physical concerns at all, it would be very useful for you to come in before the end of the year and use them.

Kaitlin had a great time speaking to an audience of gastroenterology nurses and associates, at the CSGNA’s “Let’s Get Cheeky” national conference yesterday!

She discussed the role muscle plays in our health, covering physical function, metabolism, cardiovascular health, brain health, and more…and shared tips around strength training, protein intake, and creative supplementation.

As always, Kaitlin emphasized the fact that muscle is so adaptive. It is up to us to use it or lose it, and it’s never too late to start.
