Stop. Breathe. Be. 🧘🏻
We’ve all heard “stop and smell the roses”—but in menopause, it’s not just a poetic suggestion, it’s a nervous system necessity.
A few posts back, I shared how menopause changes the way our nervous system responds to stress. When estrogen dips, our stress resilience dips too, making it harder to stay calm, think clearly, and keep our body’s systems in sync. 👍🏻
Here’s the kicker: women are world-class at overfilling their schedules and feeling guilty for resting. But constant “go mode” is like running a marathon without water—it’s not sustainable, and your nervous system pays the price. 😵💫
Your best defence?
✨Make space for relaxing, soothing activities.
✨Prioritise real, restorative sleep.
✨Say “no” more often (without apology).
✨Ask for help when you need it.
✨Tune in to your body’s cues—and honour them.
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do… is stop and smell the roses! 🌹🌹
