Her passion towards a healthier lifestyle for hersel

f and her family, led her to the eld of Nutrition. Her mission is to inspire, educate, and provide clarity on what's happening in one's body and further helping them to achieve a better state of health and well-being. She is devoted to teaching her clients nutrition through whole foods in an easy, friendly, non-intimidating way. Her goal is for her clients to facilitate their own journey towards achieving optimum health. She looks at individual needs and their individual nutritional prole and makes recommendations for diet, lifestyle, and supplemental recommendations accordingly. My story:
Sujata Kale-Banerjea, is passionate about her new life style that she has adapted. She believes that she has made a positive impact on those around her. She loves to help people who are ready to make positive changes and hopes to motivate people who need that extra push. Before going into nutrition she primarily worked in the dental eld as a Treatment Co-Ordinator for over 13 years. She enjoyed her job of educating and creating awareness about the importance of dental health. Sujata is a loving wife and a mother of 2 beautiful girls, who always made a conscious effort to keep t with exercise. Until a few years ago she realized that age was catching up with her and exercise was not the only thing that would keep her t and healthy. Her body had taken a huge toll from life and she did not understand the impact of that toll until she looked into the mirror one day. The image in the mirror did not match the image Sujata had of herself in her mind. And that's when she decided that the Yoyo - dieting was not for her anymore and she really needed to do something different. She also realized that changing her lifestyle was not just about her weight but was also about ensuring a healthy environment for herself and her family. This is when she needed to understand how nutrition can play a huge role in being healthy. The passion for a healthy lifestyle geared her towards the field of holistic nutrition. She now knows that, apart from food - hormones, sleep and work-life balance are the foundations of a healthy life. She knows that her health is her future. That being healthy is to celebrate life and make every moment count.

Eating protein… or actually using it?

My go-to MB breakfast
Almonds + sunflower seeds + apple

Simple, but powerful

Because it’s not just about protein…
It’s about biological value

👉 Can your body use what you eat?

Essential amino acids must come from food
And the right combinations make all the difference

Especially if you’re plant-based

So the real question isn’t
“Am I eating enough protein?”

It’s
✨ “Is my body able to build with it?”

✨Mediterranean flavours… but make it simple, nourishing, and totally meal-prep friendly ✨

Yesterday I made my version of Mediterranean-style meatballs and honestly… this is one of those meals that just works every single time.

Fresh herbs, lemon, a little heat… and that balance of protein, healthy fats, and real ingredients 👌

I always try to follow Metabolic Balance principles wherever I can, so I used ground flax instead of eggs and kept it one protien and simple.

Paired it with baba ganoush, fresh salad, parsley-mint pesto, and a warm bolo do caco with garlic butter, and couscous and just like that, a very satisfying, wholesome plate 💚

Also, this is such an easy meal prep win
500g made 3 to 4 meals for me

Variations:
• Vegetarian? Mashed black chickpeas work beautifully
• Don’t eat red meat? Swap with chicken or turkey

This is NOT your regular hummus… and yes, it’s Metabolic Balance approved 👀

Most people think healthy eating is about restriction…
On Metabolic Balance it’s actually about precision.

Today’s meal is a beautiful example of that.

I made a creamy, protein-rich hummus using pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds 🌿
Both of these are allowed as a vegetarian protein source on your plan — when measured correctly.

Because here’s what really matters:
✨ The biological value of your protein
✨ The exact portion your body needs
✨ Pairing it correctly with your carbohydrates

This plate came together with:
Soaked and rinsed seeds
Roasted zucchini with oregano, cumin seeds, and good quality salt
Blended with parsley, lemon juice, and garlic
Finished with extra virgin olive oil for that silky texture

Topped with roasted seeds, fresh herbs, lemon zest, and a touch of sumac ✨

Served with sourdough rye and a baked sweet potato… and suddenly, this is not “diet food” this is a gourmet experience 🤍

Your plan is not limiting you…
It’s guiding you.

✨ And maybe… your next meal inspiration starts right here

Be creative. Trust the process. Enjoy your kitchen.

C-section Awareness Month 🤍
Not every birth goes as planned, but every story deserves to be honoured.

Over four decades ago, when I became a mom, I didn’t fully realise what my body had gone through with a C-section.
Today, I’m so grateful for the awareness we have….. that this is not just childbirth, but a major surgery a woman endures with incredible strength.

As a nutritionist, I now see how important it is to support the body beyond the scar with nourishment, rest, and care.

To every mama who has had a C-section… your strength is seen, and your story matters.

A journey close to my heart 🤍

🌿A simple breath can change everything 🌿

I love reminding my clients that while nutrition is foundational, there are other powerful tools that support our body too

This Saturday, I’m hosting a complimentary roundtable with Mellanie Tara, who will guide us through breathwork and share the science behind it

Easter, for me, is not about tradition… it’s about memories, food, and the people you share it with. 💚

There are certain dishes that stay with you for life.

Growing up vegetarian in Mumbai, goat curry was something rare… only made on special occasions at my uncle’s home. My aunt would cook it slowly, and somehow that aroma, that warmth, that feeling of togetherness never left me.

Now, living between Canada and Madeira, where cabrito is part of Easter celebrations… I found myself recreating that same dish.

Not out of tradition, but out of memory.

Cooked with real ingredients
Rooted in simplicity
And shared with beautiful friends over laughter and sunshine

Because this is what I truly believe in as a nutritionist

Not perfection
Not packaged foods
Not “quick fixes”

But real food
real connection
real moments

A slow-cooked curry, a simple side of grilled squash, a glass of wine, and conversations that linger…

That’s what made this Easter special for me.

✨ Every day can be meaningful when you bring intention to it.

👉 Time to educate… healthy ≠ right for you (right now)

Why are berries sometimes not included in your Metabolic Balance plan? 🍓

This is one of the most common questions I get, especially because berries are often seen as a “superfood.”

And yes… they absolutely can be healthy.

However, in the Metabolic Balance program, the focus is not just on general “healthy foods,” but on what works best for your unique metabolism right now.

Here’s why berries may not be included initially:

• Some berries (like goji berries and certain varieties) fall into the nightshade family, which can be inflammatory for some individuals
• Even others like blueberries contain small amounts of natural compounds (like solanine-type compounds) that may not suit everyone during the healing phase
• During Phase 1 and 2, the goal is to reduce inflammation, stabilize blood sugar, and allow your body to reset
• The plan prioritizes foods that are most metabolically neutral and supportive for you personally

💡 Think of this phase as a therapeutic reset, not a forever restriction.

Once your body is more balanced and inflammation is reduced, many foods including berries can often be reintroduced gradually and mindfully, based on how your body responds.

The moment I saw this cauliflower… I thought of my mom ❤️

Growing up in Maharashtra, our meals were simple, wholesome, and deeply rooted in tradition. But this stuffed cauliflower was always reserved for special occasions. Festivals, celebrations, or when guests came over… the moment this appeared on the table, it felt like something truly special.

I still remember watching my mom carefully turn the cauliflower, stuffing it inside out so every bite carried flavour. We didn’t even have an oven back then… she would patiently slow cook it in a kadhai until it was just perfect.

Today, walking through the local market in Funchal, Madeira, I found this beautiful cauliflower and instantly felt that same warmth. Made this for Ronnie and me… and just like that, it felt like home.

✨ Simple ingredients. Deep memories.

Stuffed with fresh green chutney, topped with a tangy tomato sauce, finished with peas and a classic tempering… this is comfort food at its best 💚

✨ Not all transformations are loud… some are powerful in silence

This journey comes from one of my clients, a cardiac surgeon from India 🇮🇳

Over 16 months, he lost 10 kg
Slow. Steady. Sustainable.

But that’s not the real win 👇

His HbA1c improved from 5.6 → 5.3 💫
And more importantly… he now feels more energetic, clearer, and truly in sync with his body 🙏

No crash diets
No extremes
No shortcuts

Just consistency, balanced meals, and trusting the body’s ability to heal

When even a cardiac surgeon prioritizes metabolic health this way… it says everything ❤️

This is what we focus on in Metabolic Balance
Not just weight loss… but real health, real energy, real life

If you’re looking for quick fixes, this isn’t it
If you’re ready for lasting change… you’re in the right place ❤️
