Dr. Amy Tung, ND I help high achieving women optimize their health, manage the hormone changes of perimenopause and menopause.

Licensed ND in Ontario working with women for two decades. I am a board-certified Naturopathic Doctor, writer and speaker, and for almost two decades, I have been helping patients achieve optimal health and wellness through hormonal balance. I have a special interest and passion in hormone health, I work daily with women who experience hormonal concerns. I am certified in hormone replacement (HRT)

also known as "bio-identical hormone replacement therapy" (BHRT), and have done further training to be able to prescribe and use these tools. I do regularly use these and other naturopathic tools to heal and educate and help balance hormones for my patients. I currently sit on the board of the Endocrinology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (EndoANP) and have been a board member for four years. The EndoANP supports Naturopathic Doctors in North America who have a special interest in hormone health. I have advanced my knowledge in supportive hormone care and have received the Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Endocrinology designation (based on the standard for the American Board of Naturopathic Endocrinology, which is the certification branch of the Endocrinology Association of Naturopathic Physicians). As a graduate of the four-year program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto I am registered with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario, and hold an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo. My approach to health and wellness involves looking at the physical, emotional and mental aspects of a person’s health. As a result of this holistic approach, I have always practiced in integrative medical clinics alongside medical doctors and a team of other health care professionals. I am a wife and busy mom of three young children, and am constantly looking to find balance and harmony in all areas of life. When I’m not with patients, you can find me doing yoga, making healthy recipes or exploring new hiking trails with my family. If you’re struggling with low desire after menopause, there are several evidence-based treatments available.

Some options include:
✔️ Flibanserin (Addyi) – works on brain neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine
✔️ Hormone therapy – especially testosterone (in specific cases) or vaginal estrogen for GSM-related symptoms
✔️ Psychotherapy or s*x therapy – for addressing relationship dynamics, trauma, or stress
✔️ Lifestyle interventions – sleep, exercise, and stress management can significantly impact libido

No single solution fits everyone. The right treatment depends on what’s causing the change in your desire.

Genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) affects 50–70% of postmenopausal women, and it often begins in perimenopause.

Common symptoms:
✔️ Vaginal dryness or tightness
✔️ Burning, itching, or irritation
✔️ Discomfort or pain during s*x
✔️ Increased urinary urgency or infections

All of these can impact libido, not because you’ve lost interest, but because intimacy becomes uncomfortable. Recognizing GSM is a key part of understanding libido changes.

6 Things to Know About Inflammaging and Your Skin

Inflammaging is a type of low-grade, chronic inflammation that speeds up skin aging. It’s one of the reasons our skin changes more rapidly as we get older, and especially during menopause.

Here’s what triggers inflammaging and how you can fight back:

UV exposure damages skin and sparks inflammation

Poor sleep impairs repair and boosts inflammatory markers

Chronic stress releases hormones that break down collagen

Processed foods can increase systemic inflammation

Use antioxidants topically and in your diet to neutralize free radicals

Support your skin barrier and prioritize sleep & stress management for long-term skin health

Understanding inflammaging helps you protect your skin and slow down visible aging.
