Royal Ford Veterinary Hospital was established in 1999 and has been caring for dogs and cats since the day the doors opened. Our staff are compassionate animal lovers and our hospital practices high quality veterinary medicine. We strive to provide both exceptional patient care and outstanding client service. Located in southeast Oakville, we provide care for patients in Oakville, Mississauga and Burlington, and even as far away as North Bay! The hospital is co-owned and co-directed by two Ontario Veterinary College graduates. Dr. David Polson and Dr. Chris Catena are very knowledgeable and caring, and will work with you to determine what is best for your pet.

It’s time for another Who’s Who Wednesday!

If you have missed our other posts, every Wednesday we have been featuring one of our lovely team members and putting them in the “spawtlight” so you can get to know them a little bit better.

Dr. Catena is one of our incredible veterinarians and also the owner of Royal Ford Veterinary Hospital. He graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 1999. In 2007, he had the privilege of joining Dr. David Polson at Royal Ford and continues his journey as practice owner. His special interests include internal medicine, dentistry and mentoring students from the elementary to university level who are interested in veterinary medicine.

In his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with his family which includes their wonderful cat/dog duo, Princess Leia and Obi-Wan Kenobi (you can probably guess that he is a BIG Star Wars fan). He is a true foodie who is always game to try a new restaurant and is easily persuaded by a sweet treat! He prioritizes staying active and can often be found in the gym, hitting the slopes or camping. He enjoys any activity that keeps him moving and enjoying the great outdoors.

It’s time again for another Who’s Who Wednesday!

If you missed last week’s post, every Wednesday we will be putting one of our lovely team members in the “spawtlight” so you can get to know them a little bit better.

This week we have Lily and her handsome boy, Laszlo.

Lily has been a great addition to our RVT team since joining us part time in 2023. You will find her in the office every other Friday and Saturday. Lily is not afraid to jump in and help out wherever she is needed whether that is in the treatment area or at the front desk.

When Lily is not in the office you can find her heading to the gym for a good workout, catching a live concert, or relaxing at home with her Golden Retriever, Laszlo, by her side!

It’s time again for another Who’s Who Wednesday!

If you missed last week’s post, every Wednesday we will be putting one of our lovely team members in the “spawtlight” so you can get to know them a little bit better.

Sarah is the newest addition to our RVT team, joining the Royal Ford family earlier this year. Sarah is enthusiastic, dedicated and passionate about animal health. Like our other RVTs, there is never a boring day and she stays busy by helping one of the doctors during an exam, monitoring surgical patients or checking in with our clients to see how their furry friends are doing after their visit!

When Sarah is not working hard, you will find her staying active on the tennis court or at the driving range, searching for new pokemon cards to add to her collection, or enjoying her favourite beverage, a Tim Hortons Iced Capp!

It’s time again for another Who’s Who Wednesday!

If you missed last week’s post, every Wednesday we will be putting one of our lovely team members in the “spawtlight” so you can get to know them a little bit better.

This week we have Kristen and her lovable cat, Lincoln! 🐈

Kristen has been a hard-working and passionate member of our client care team since joining the Royal Ford family in 2023. Often hers is the first face you will see at check-in, she’s known for her warm welcomes and always making both clients and their furry companions feel right at home! 🐾

Outside of work, Kristen enjoys unwinding by playing one of her favorite video games, building modular lego sets or cuddling up with her pets, Ozzy and Lincoln, while enjoying a good book!

It’s time again for another Who’s Who Wednesday!

If you missed last week’s post, every Wednesday we will be putting one of our lovely team members in the “spawtlight” so you can get to know them a little bit better.

This week we have Sandra and her precious lab, Piper! 🐶

Sandra joined the Royal Ford team in 2017 and has been a dedicated member of our client care team ever since. You will find her in the office every Thursday and Friday. Whether she’s welcoming you at the front desk or lending a helping hand in the exam room, Sandra is always ready to jump in to support our clients and their pets!

In her free time, Sandra enjoys spending quality time with her family. Life at home is never boring, she stays busy caring for her two children and lively crew of pets including her dogs, Piper and Russell, her cat Suzy, many fish, and an Axolotol named Sq**rt! Despite all the craziness, she still finds time to unwind by relaxing in her garden with a good book.

It’s time again for another Who’s Who Wednesday!

If you missed last week’s post, every Wednesday we will be putting one of our lovely team members in the “spawtlight” so you can all get to know them a little better.

This week we have Kathryn and her handsome frenchie, Phil (short for Philip Kessel!) 🐾

Kathryn is a valued member of our client care team and has been a part of the Royal Ford family since 2012! You can often find her assisting one of the doctors in the exam room or giving out treats to all of our furry friends checking in at the front desk.

When she is not working hard Kathryn can be found curled up with a good book, spending time with her family, going for walks or hanging out with her retired show pony, Natti!🐴

It’s time again for another Who’s Who Wednesday!

If you missed last week’s post, every Wednesday we will be putting one of our lovely team members in the “spawtlight” so you can get to know them a little bit better.

This week we have Rhiannon and their purr-fect kitty, Opus! 🐈‍⬛💙

Rhiannon has quickly become an essential part of our RVT team since joining us in 2024. Rhiannon brings a passion for ensuring each and every pet they see receives the best quality of care, so that they can lead a long and healthy life! Each day looks a little different for them, they can often be found assisting with a surgery, caring for hospitalized patients or running a “happy” visit (hint: this involves lots of cookies for our furry friends). A day in the life of an RVT is never boring!

Outside of work, Rhiannon’s life is all about balance. They enjoy diving into a good book while their kitties Lilo and Opus lounge by their side, catching a local theatre production (sometimes even helping backstage), and spending time with friends around a tabletop game. If you’re looking for a good recommendation - whether it’s a novel or a play, Rhiannon is our go to!
