Choosing the right type of CPAP mask is crucial when it comes to treating sleep Apnea. Getting a new CPAP machine might feel like the last step in treating sleep apnea but mask choice is key.
As we know, we all breathe different while sleeping.

One could be a mouth breather or nose breather. While breathing through our noses could be optimal, some are unable to and end up breathing through their mouth.

For nose breathers- a nasal mask can be effective and a face mask is not needed. However for mouth breathers- full face mask is required to ensure treatment is optimal and the pressure is not lost. A full face mask may not sound appealing as the initial thought of a full face mask does not look or feel nice.

However, CPAP brands have come up with a variety of minimal full face mask that covers the nose and mouth and still feeling comfortable.
