Two new unpublished studies suggest that patients who got corticosteroid shots saw their knee arthritis advance more quickly than those who didn’t.

❤- In Loving Memory of Snaigė Zahn -❤
(Aug 16, 1986- Oct 18, 2019)

It is with heavy hearts that our Progress Physio family share the news of our dear friend and coworker Snaigė Zahn’s passing. Snaige was not only an incredible physiotherapist, but a loving mother, wife, friend, and outdoors enthusiast. She was always a ray of sunshine around Progress Physiotherapy.

Snaigė has battled stage 4 colorectal cancer for the past 2 years. She was diagnosed only 4 months after her incredible daughter, Zoë, was born. During that time, she underwent multiple forms of treatment including surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and eventually immunotherapy. She continued to work as much as her body would allow during that time. Snaigė loved being at the clinic and helping others.

Despite her diagnosis of terminal cancer, she wanted to give her time to her patients. Her passion in life and work was not only admirable, but contagious. Snaigė always made a strong impression on people, and she continues to have a huge impact on those who were blessed to have known her. We can all learn a lot from the beautiful way she lived her life: practice gratitude each day; do what you love; say yes more; don’t sweat the small stuff; spend time with those you love; face the unknown head on; eat your veggies; and for heaven’s sakes, GET OUTSIDE!

Please see details shared below for Snaigė’s celebration of life.

If you would like to help contribute to Snaigė’s Legacy you can support, share, or donate to the GO FUND ME link below, or contact Cherisse Denison at the clinic cherisse@progressphysio.com. This fund will go towards helping support Snaigė’s wish for Zoë to enjoy and learn from the outdoors. This is Snaigė’s gift to Zoëbear! ❤

Live long and prosper….

“According to our findings, the optimal exercise regimen for reducing the risk of deLliveath by all-causes is 3 hours per week of aerobic exercise (moderate and/or vigorous) and 1-2 times per week of muscle-strengthening exercise (e.g., resistance training) targeting all 7 major muscle groups (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders, and arms).”

This blog provides a summary of a recent national cohort study of over 400,000 US adults that identifies the minimum effective dose of aerobic and muscle-strengthening exercise. Why is this study important? Physical activity guidelines for health include both aerobic and strength components. Specifi...
