One of my favourite things to treat, and a big reason I got into TCM and Acupuncture, was insomnia and dreams.

Absolutely love treating this!

🌙😴
Difficulty falling asleep?
Difficulty staying asleep?
Waking up and difficulty falling back?
Tossing and turning?
Excessive dreaming?
Waking up well before your alarm wide awake?

Might be a great time to incorporate Acupuncture into your life.

Hi there, I wanted to reintroduce myself! 🙋🏻‍♀️

My name is Lauren and I have been practicing acupuncture for over 6 years now. I grew up in a small town in Nova Scotia and loved where I grew up. I started horseback riding at a young age and while several people over the years, told me I’d grow out of it, my passion only grew. I just published my first children’s book and I am working on my second.

Horses and animals in general have taught me a lot about myself and other people. Diving into the world of horsemanship has actually helped my acupuncture practice immensely.

Before going back to school for acupuncture, I first went to Dalhousie Agricultural college where I received my B.Sc. Environmental, Plant and Animal were my focus.

I had a fascination with holistic health and education and decided to go back to school for TCM Acupuncture. The doors just opened and it all made sense! I knew it was the right path for me. Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture has completely changed my life and I am forever grateful.

I love the holistic healing of it, the wonder and curiosity. I get to continually learn and help educate others; it is a blessing 🥰

I have recently moved to Alberta to start a new adventure and if you’ve ever been thinking about trying acupuncture, I am happy to help.

Outside of work I do enjoy:
✨All the tea
✨Spending time with family and friends
✨Exploring
✨All the animals
✨Horseback riding
✨Hiking
✨Reading and writing
✨Making people laugh
✨A hood game of cards

😶 Bell’s Palsy in TCM

Bell’s palsy is an acute condition characterized by sudden facial muscle weakness or paralysis, usually affecting one side of the face. Symptoms often worsen within the first 48 hours and may take weeks to months to fully resolve—though most cases recover well with proper support.

⚡ Common Causes (TCM view):

Weak immune system / Wei Qi deficiency

Emotional stress (allowing Wind to invade)

Medication or drug-related triggers

This condition is often classified as Wind invasion of the channels affecting the face.

🎯 Treatment Options:

👂 Ear acupuncture points: Jaw, Eye, Cheek, Shen Men

⚡ Electro-acupuncture (low setting): ST 7 & ST 8

💡 Clinical tip: Early treatment is key. Gentle stimulation in the acute phase helps restore channel flow, reduce paralysis, and support nerve recovery.
