Harmony Health Integrative Centre

Harmony Health Integrative Centre Integrative Health Clinic that includes Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, Registered Massage TherapIist and Registered Manual Osteopath serving Okotoks, Foothills County and South Calgary

We are an integrative health clinic in Okotoks that was started by Dr. Kaler, Naturopathic Doctor. She has been in Okotoks since 2013 and Harmony Health Integrative Centre was born when she outgrew her previous office space. She expanded to the current location in 2017 and has built a clinic with like-minded healthcare practitioners. The goal of Harmony Health Integrative Centre is to help you feel better whether it's working on your current symptoms or preventing them all altogether.

Our clinic includes the services of Naturopathic Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Massage Therapy and Manual Osteopathy. Dr. Kaler is a licensed and registered Naturopathic Doctor since 2013. She uses evidence-based treatments for a whole-body approach. Her treatments can include diet and lifestyle changes, supplements, herbs, vitamin IVs, injections, chelation, prolotherapy or ozone therapy.

Dr. Naomi Wegleitner is a licensed Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. She uses a whole-body approach to formulate the best acupuncture treatment for you. She will use cupping and Chinese Herbs where she feels they are best suited. She also provides cosmetic acupuncture for those looking to improve their skin or take a natural approach to age gracefully.

Colby Fox is a manual osteopathy education. She takes a whole-body look at how your body moves to determine where your issues may be starting. Instead of just looking at the knee and treating it for knee pain, it's important to look at the ankles and hips and how the entire system works as a whole.

Taylor Poole is a registered massage therapist since 2019. She is also certified in Dynamic Cupping and Assisted Stretching Therapy. With her love for anatomy, physiology and overall well-being she fell into the industry seamlessly and hasn't looked back since. She has primarily focused on reducing pain and tension to increase quality of life. Taylor has been successful in treating stress-related concerns, injuries, acute and chronic pain with a variety of techniques, from deep tissue therapy to relaxation techniques.

On this Remembrance Day, we pause to honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of all those who have fought for our freedom. We are deeply grateful to the veterans, current service members, and their families who have given so much.

May we never forget the bravery and selflessness that continue to inspire us all.
Lest we forget. 🌺

Oxford University published a study on August 31, 2025 which looked at period pain in teenagers and chronic pain as adults.

The study included 1157 women and found that the severity of dysmenorrhia (painful periods) at age 15 corresponded with chronic pain as an adult (age 26 in this study)
- Mild dysmenorrhia = 23% higher rate of chronic pain
- Moderate dysmenorrhia = 65% higher rate of chronic pain
- Severe dysmenorrhia = 76% higher rate of chronic pain

Severe period pain in teenagers is important to identify and manage to prevent a future of chronic pain. Education and awareness in teenagers is important by age 15 that period pain is not normal.

Endometriosis is an extremely painful condition in which tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus. It doesn't just cause painful and debilitating periods; it leads to chronic pain. Endometrosis is much more than severe periods and cramping. Unlike period cramps, endometriosis pain lasts all month long.

1. Heart Attacks - the cramping and chronic pain of endometriosis is considered to be more painful than a heart attack.

2. Many women have reported that childbirth was less painful than the chronic pain they experience with endometriosis. The persistent and constant endometrosis pain has been described as being more debilitating than the acute pain of labour and contractions.

4. Appendicitis and endometrosis both cause intense abdominal pain however, the chronic, intense and long-lasting endometrosis pain is often considered worse than the acute pain of appendicitis.

This week, we’re recognizing National Pain Awareness Week (Nov 2 – 8) — a time to shed light on the realities of living with chronic pain.

In Canada, 1 in 5 people live with chronic pain — often invisible, yet deeply life-altering. It can affect mental health, relationships, and quality of life.

At Harmony Health Integrative Centre, we believe in compassion, understanding, and support for those managing pain every day. Let’s start conversations that make pain visible and reduce the stigma around it.

đź’™ Together, we can help and advocate for better awareness, care, and empathy.

What’s with all the moustaches this month? 🥸

It’s Movember — a global movement raising awareness and funds for men’s health: mental health, su***de prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

Movember is a global movement held every November that encourages people — especially men — to grow a moustache (or support those who do!) to raise awareness and funds for men’s health.

The name combines “mo” (short for moustache) and “November.”

The campaign started in 2003 in Australia when two friends decided to bring back the moustache to spark conversations about men’s health. It quickly grew into a worldwide movement led by the Movember Foundation, funding research and initiatives focused on:
âś… Mental health and su***de prevention
âś… Prostate cancer
âś… Testicular cancer

• In Canada 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their life-time.
• Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men aged 15-40, with ~300 diagnoses daily worldwide.

Let’s change the face of men’s health — together. 💙

An estimated 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 1 in 36 will die from it.

Deaths from Breast Cancer have steadily decreased since they peaked in 1986. Early detection, improved screenings, and improved treatments have all played a role in these important advances.
