As we begin throat chakra activation week we begin to align with our true self, our higher self and start to not only speak our truth, but, eat more truthfully as well. Here is where we cultivate ‘clarity’ in eating.
An imbalance in this chakra can cause a blockage of communication, misunderstanding, and a stifled voice. Physically, the chakra is connected to the Thyroid gland and supports the neck, throat, jaw, and teeth, and blocked energy can cause issues with sinuses, swollen glands, and neck/shoulder pain.
Before you swallow a bite of food, you have the opportunity to smell it with your nose and taste it in your mouth, both are connected to the Throat Chakra.
Andrea likes to remind us that we vote each day with your wallet, and you vote each day with your fork. Another part of your body that’s connected with the Throat Chakra are your ears. Are you listening to your Higher self when selecting and purchasing foods at the market? Are you tuning in to your inner guidance system? Are you being true to yourself and honoring your needs with your food choices? Are you taking the time to slow down, be mindful and present when you eat, tapping into all of your senses, or are you rushed, distracted and disconnected from the food you're about to consume? … a lot to consider next time you enter the grocery store with your list of foods.
This chakra is where you use all of your senses as well as your extra sensory perceptions to gain clarity about what you are eating and why and how it impacts your physical body, mind, and Spirit. Choosing what to eat is one of the most important decisions you can make each day. You have the opportunity multiple times a day to be t rue to yourself with your food choices.
Not a lot of blue foods our there, I know. Blueberries are good – they tend to go purple though. Since I began participating in the CAM program I have learned how to make a blue smoothie. Yup, a pretty denim blue color! I have use blue spirulina in my smoothie with blueberries of course, blackberries, lime juice & cucumber … sometimes I throw in a pear. Let me tell you, yummmm mmy!!!
