September 6, 2025. HRH Sophie, The Duchess of Edinburgh continued her Royal tour of Alberta, Canada.
HRH firstly visited the Opening Gaits therapeutic riding center in Alberta, Canada. During the visit HRH met with riding center volunteers, riders and their horses.
Secondly The Duchess of Edinburgh visited the Founders Plaza, part of Spruce Meadows, in Calgary. During the visit HRH met with British and Scottish vendors and learned about the goods they provide. She then met members of the RCMP Veterans Association as well as members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride division, members of The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, members of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment as well as young members of Diamond Willow Vaulting Club.
Lastly HRH also visited the Brown Bear Woman Tipi exhibit and met with the Great Britain team who won the BMO Nation's Cup showjumping competition on 'British Day' at Spruce Meadows.
In the evening HRH attended a dinner to mark the Calgary-based sports and entertainment complex's 50th Anniversary at Riding Hall Circle, Spruce Meadows.
