Such a year of big ups and downs.
As far as the downs go, they were deep, devastating, low downs…
my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer and then had a heart attack and almost died. Less than a month after my mom left the hospital, My step dad (he’s really my dad ♥️) passed away after being sick for one week.
Everything changed so drastically in many ways. I became a care giver to my mom, which I wouldn’t change for the world but also felt an incredible loss with my dad’s passing.
The ups were there as well and absolutely wonderful and game changing.
My kids both graduated from their respective post secondary schools. Chloe became a Registered Nurse and Caden, a Red Seal journeyman Electrician. They both have careers that they love. At 25 and 22 my daughter and son are moving forward and like what they do. What a blessing to watch as a parent. Can we really ask for more when it comes to our kids?
So at 50 years old, Brad and I are empty nesters and although strange, it feels pretty good to see life in a different way. For 25 years, My definition has been as a mother.
Now I get to figure out who I am as an individual.
I will always be my kids biggest supporter and cheerleader but it’s their time to shine on their own and my time to turn inward and grow into me.
It’s also a time for my husband and I to reconfigure our lives as partners. To learn to put each other first and move forward in a healthy and positive manner. I’m really excited.
Also, Two of the best gifts I have ever known happened in 2025 as well. Brad and I became grandparents, twice!!!! Both of Brad’s beautiful daughters gave birth to their two daughters. Scottie and Hartlee came into our worlds and straight into our hearts. It is hands down the most special feeling to have those girls (all of them!) interwoven into our lives. They are so incredible and we literally couldn’t ask for two greater gifts this year. The holiday season takes on a different meaning with those precious angels with us.
My business continues to grow and be one of my greatest loves.
I always say that if I’m not having the best day, all I have to do is see one of my clients and it doesn’t seem so bad…
To my amazing people... THANK YOU for being my purpose, passion and at times a much needed distraction. You fill me up and I look forward to another year of memories and love.
