When my son was a toddler, we read a story about a family of puppies experiencing the seasons for the first time.
Born in the spring, the puppies loved chasing butterflies, rolling in the grass, basking in the sun — until one day the leaves began to change colour and fall. The wind blew cold, and the puppies were frightened. Their world was crumbling, and they didn’t understand why.
Of course, nothing was “wrong.” The world was simply shifting into a new season. And soon, they discovered the joy of crunchy leaves and bounding through snow drifts.
Parenthood feels a bit like that sometimes. Feeding patterns shift. Sleep changes. Relationships evolve. Life looks different from one week to the next. It can feel uncertain — but often, it’s just a new season settling in.
🌸 This month’s Nurturing Notes newsletter is all about trusting the process — in feeding, in sleep, and in yourself.
