Celebrating Gloria Sagun, the 2024 Lodge Excellence Award recipient at our Mount View Lodge.💙

When Gloria heard her name called during the Excellence Award announcement, she was completely surprised. “I wasn’t expecting it,” she said. “I feel each of us deserves to be awarded because we are all giving our very best to our job.” Her humility and sincerity are just a few of the qualities that make her so valued among her peers.

❄️ Day 50 of our 65 Days of Celebration! ❄️

With all the snow coming down today, it feels like the perfect time to give a huge shout-out to our incredible Maintenance Team!

While most of us are watching the flakes fall, our contracted maintenance team (Smart Contracting Services Ltd.) is out there shovelling, clearing, sanding, and salting to keep our residents and staff safe. Their dedication shows up in every cleared walkway and every safe step taken on days just like this.

🌨️ Fun fact: Over the last 65 years, Mountain View County has seen an estimated 266 feet of total snowfall... That’s nearly the height of a 25-storey building made of snow!

🎉Day 49 of our 65 Days of Celebration | National Housing Day 💙

Today, we join communities across Canada in recognizing National Housing Day! This is a day created to raise awareness about the importance of safe, affordable housing and the ongoing challenges of homelessness.

National Housing Day began in 2000, following the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Big City Mayors’ Caucus motion on November 22, 1998, declaring homelessness a national disaster. That declaration sparked a nationwide conversation, and a commitment that continues today.

At Mountain View Seniors’ Housing (MVSH), this day deeply reflects our purpose. As a Housing Management Body created under Ministerial Order, we proudly serve our region by helping ensure that seniors, families, and individuals across Mountain View County and Kneehill County have a safe, stable place to call home.

Do you enjoy creating fun, social moments for seniors? MVSH is seeking friendly, reliable volunteers to support our Activity Coordinator at our Mount View Lodge in Olds, during Happy Hour events!

As a Happy Hour Helper, you’ll assist with serving simple alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, help keep the event running smoothly, and bring joy to residents who look forward to this weekly social time. ❤
