Christal had the incredible opportunity this month to travel to Portland and study with Dr. Rachel Brooks, an American Osteopath carrying forward the teachings of pioneers in cranial osteopathy. Learning from someone who preserves the lineage of the greats, Dr. Fulford, Dr. Wales, Dr. Becker, and ultimately Dr. William G. Sutherland, was an honour true delight 🌿

While the course explored Christal’s work as an osteopathic manual therapist, it also offered a broader reflection on what it means to "be a fulcrum" in life. Beyond therapy, a fulcrum is someone who provides steady support, a grounding presence, or a safe space for others to shift, grow, or heal. You might be a fulcrum for your children, a partner, a friend navigating challenges, or even a stranger, simply by being mindful, present, and compassionate.

The Oxford Dictionary defines a fulcrum as “the point on which a lever pivots” or “something that plays a central role in an event or situation.” In life, as in osteopathy, being a fulcrum doesn’t mean forcing change, it means offering support and a presence that allows transformation to happen naturally 🌳

Christal reflected that sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply be a grounded pillar for those around us, much like the trees - just being, just beautiful.

A friendly reminder that we’re only about 7 weeks away from the year-end and benefit renewals! Now’s the perfect time to book your appointments and make the most of your coverage. Corentin and Kathy are accepting new osteopathic clients, while Dr. Lori and Dr. Fernyhough are also welcoming new patients for their services. Remember, to fully use your benefits, it’s best to start booking now, since care isn’t always weekly and appointments need to be spaced out over time.

💡 If you still have funds in your health spending accounts, consider using them for our wellness classes too, Kundalini Yoga, Qi-Gong, or Hypopressives are all great ways to support your wellbeing. Book now and make your benefits count before the year resets!
