I am a Certified Labour Doula and I took training through DONA International in February 2012 and a refresher in May 2013. I completed my Full Birth /Labour Doula Certification through DONA in April of 2014 and am working on my Hypnobabies Childbirth Hypno Doula training. You may also contact me by cell 403-507-1267

I have three children, Two daughters who attend a local elementary school and a little boy who is truly now a toddler not a baby anymore. I also work with the Volunteer Doula Program at Olds Hospital, and Calgary CARE Doulas, helping to reach more women who want a Doula. I’ve done many wonderful things in my life, the best so far is being a stay-at-home mom and wife. But recently I’ve added another wonderful thing to my life, being a Birth Doula. It’s a calling and a passion I’ve discovered that I really enjoy. Attending Births and supporting women and their families in this momentous event is truly an honor. It is such a beautiful occasion to witness and it brings me great joy to help those couples in the way that they wish. A Doula is:

I am once again honoured to be a part of hosting some gatherings in recognition of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month coming up.

On October 15th, together with some other wonderful organizers and collaborators, we are putting on two events to recognize the International Wave of Light!

You are invited to join in during the day at shop and then participate in the evening with a lovely gathering at the Centre.

We have all been touched by loss and perhaps you yourself are 1 in 4 who have been affected by pregnancy or infant loss. All are welcome and every amount of support is appreciated. We hope you join us.

Our Story

My name is Christa L Duquette. I am a Certified Birth and Bereavement Doula and I started my training with DONA International back in February 2012. I completed my Full Birth /Labour Doula Certification through DONA in April of 2014 and continue to work on more bereavement courses as well as birth doula courses to further my learning.

I also work with the AHS Volunteer Doula Program at Olds Hospital, and Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Center in Olds and Red Deer, helping to reach more women who want a Doula. I am also grateful to be part of the Red Deer Doula Association and collaborate with so many other fantastic Doulas.

I have three beautiful children, Two daughters who and a little boy who all attend a local school and truly keep me on my toes with their creativity and busy-ness. Together with my husband we are thankful to raise our kids on his family farm east of Olds and hope to continue seeing the farm grow with the next generation. I’ve done many wonderful things in my life, the best so far is being a stay-at-home mom and wife. But recently I’ve added really enjoyed exploring more and more Birth and Bereavement work. It’s a calling and a passion I’ve discovered and I’m so blessed to be in this line of work. Attending Births and supporting women and their families in this momentous event is truly an honor.
