Health care teams at primary care networks recognize both the challenges and milestones that come with growing up. Whether it’s support for mental health, nutrition, or any other part of your wellbeing, your primary care provider is here to help you through every step of your journey.

You’ve got this, and we’ve got you!

Heat stroke is no joke! 🔥 When temperatures soar, your body can overheat fast leading to heat stroke, a life-threatening emergency.

Know the signs:

☀️Dizziness or confusion
☀️No sweating despite being in high temperatures
☀️Nausea or fainting

When out in the heat make sure to: Stay hydrated, wear breathable clothing and take breaks in the shade or AC.

If someone shows symptoms, cool them down ASAP and if their condition worsens, call emergency services.

Stay safe, stay cool, and don’t let the heat win. If you have questions or concerns about heat safety, your PCN or primary care provider can help.

📵 It’s time to unplug and head outside.

Turning off your tech, even for a little while, can boost your mood, reduce stress and recharge your body and brain. For Albertans, it's easier (and more affordable) than you think to get moving:

💊 Prescription to Get Active: Ask your doctor for this free “prescription” and get trial passes to rec centres and sporting activities across Alberta ➡️ https://bit.ly/4ljBHKr

⛰️ Canada Strong Pass: Until September 2, trek through national parks like Banff and Jasper for free ➡️ http://bit.ly/3TBW9u6

🌱 Stay close to home: Tend to your garden, visit a local park or explore your ’hood — consider inviting friends or family to enjoy it with!

Your PCN is here to support your health. Taking time to unplug is a great place to start. If you have questions, you can always talk to your doctor or health team.

June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day. A day to honour the strength, knowledge and enduring presence of Indigenous peoples. We are listening and learning. We are working to create ongoing spaces of trust, respect and cultural safety.

Across our Primary Care Networks, we incorporate these practices:

Learning Together
Culturally safe training on topics like colonization, racism, and allyship.

Indigenous Patient Advocacy
We work with patients to understand their healthcare journey, remove barriers and connect them with the right care.

Leading with Respect
We focus on reconciliation, anti-racism and inclusive hiring.

Join us in learning, listening and honouring Indigenous experiences. Looking for a way to take part?
