🎃 When the tricks of Halloween fade, there's a treat on the other side: an extra hour of sleep.

Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 2.

If time changes usually throw you off, try these tips to help you adjust:

💤 adopt a calming ritual before bed and limit screen time
💤 ease in by gradually shifting your sleep schedule
💤 if you need to take a nap, keep it short and sweet
💤 spend time outdoors to enjoy natural light
💤 keep a consistent exercise routine
💤 skip caffeine when it gets close to bedtime

If you typically have trouble falling asleep, talk to your primary care provider.

Misinformation about mental health can stop people from reaching out for support. Let’s set the record straight.💙

Support looks different for everyone. If you or someone you love is struggling, talk to your primary care provider. They can connect you with the right resources, including a referral to mental health supports available through our and other programs.

Taking that first step can make a difference.

🔎 What is an invisible disability?
The stranger next to you might look completely fine, but in reality could be managing a mental, physical or neurological condition that impacts their quality of life, like:
• chronic pain or fatigue
• mental health conditions like anxiety or depression
• learning differences
• hearing or vision loss
• autoimmune disorder
🩵 This Invisible Disability Awareness Week, remember to always conduct yourself with kindness — you never know what others are struggling with.

Tuesday, September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 🧡

It is a time to learn, reflect, and honour Survivors of residential schools, as well as the children who never returned home, and their families and communities.

Alberta Primary Care Networks are committed to listening, learning, and taking action to reduce barriers and improve primary care experiences for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

We invite you to join us in marking the day by wearing orange and attending community events. From commemorative walks to Powwows, workshops, Elder storytelling, and film screenings, there are many opportunities to reflect and connect.
