👋Hello! Posting on behalf of two of our wonderful residents at Carefree Manor:
1️⃣. One resident lovingly spends her time knitting cozy blankets to donate to the local women’s centre, providing warmth and comfort to those in need. Through every stitch, she shares love and hope with the women who receive these blankets. She is currently seeking donations of yarn to keep this heartfelt project going. If you have any leftover yarn—any color or type—that you no longer need, your generosity would be deeply appreciated and put to good use. Thank you so much for supporting her kindness and this meaningful cause!
2️⃣. Another resident is collecting current magazines, paperback novels and medical reference books.

🌿🌸 A Heartfelt Thank You! 🌸🌿

🌟We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to Heather Wood, the incredible Work Experience Coordinator at Peter Skene Ogden Secondary School, for helping to bring our Veggie Garden Project to life.

🌟A SPECIAL SHOUT-OUT also goes to the wonderful student volunteers, KAZIA and GRACE, and the entire PSO Agriculture class for their generous donation of beautiful flowers and veggie plants to our garden project. 🌻🥕🌱

It’s truly inspiring to see our youth volunteering, connecting with seniors, and making such a positive impact in our community. Your enthusiasm and hard work are blooming right alongside these plants!

🌟We also want to recognize our dedicated resident volunteers, BARB and EVELINE, and our fantastic maintenance supervisor, BLAIR, for their daily commitment to nurturing and caring for our garden. Your passion keeps our green space thriving and blooming!

How wonderful is our community! A big thank you to 100 Mile Repair Cafe for fixing our resident’s walker for her. She was happy to have her picture taken and posted to extend a thanks to these incredible volunteers, who do these repairs at no cost.

If you haven’t checked them out yet, head over to their page and give them a like. There are more upcoming repair cafes if you or someone you know, needs a helping hand to fix their item.

Carefree Manor is looking for a Temporary Hair Stylist for our senior residents for the month of November.

This role is contracted and keeps 90% of revenue with 10% back to the residence.

Products not supplied, however, chair, station, and full salon is available.

This position is THURSDAYS only.

Carefree Manor Assisted Living 100 Mile House has a vacant studio suite coming available soon for single, private pay occupancy. This suite includes weekly housekeeping, all utilities including high speed Wifi and basic cable (excluding phone) 3 home cooked meals per day, featuring a seasonal menu plus evening snack. Included in the monthly rate is 24/7 Care Aide on duty and recreational activities and gatherings. We are so grateful to all those who volunteer their most precious commodity to our seniors- their time. In a world that has never been busier, this selfless act of serving, volunteering and showing up for our seniors touches many hearts.

Today we want to give a BIG shout out to 100 Mile House Fire-Rescue for volunteering their trucks and man power to move a resident into care 2 weeks ago. Again today, we received even more support from 3 kind fellows and their trucks in the community for assisting another senior, to move his heavy belongings into our care. Our community has stepped up for our most vulnerable in their times of need. We can’t thank you enough, for supporting our seniors and giving a hand up!

Assurity is B.C.'s certification program for independent living, making it easier to pick a home that meets or exceeds quality standards.

The Assurity certification means that an operator has put practices in place in areas such as privacy, safety, resident onboarding, emergency preparedness, employee safety and client satisfaction.

Aside from Bingo, Balloon Battle is a top favourite activity! Especially when the resident Frenchie plays along! While this may seem like an easy activity, our Activity Coordinator makes sure they get their arms moving for sustained mobility and strengthening exercises plus some added gentle cardio!
