Meghan began her social work career over 20 years ago working with adolescents and their families who were experiencing mental health and addiction challenges. Her path to private practice involved working in wilderness therapy in Canada and the US, residential therapeutic settings, mental health, and other social service agencies within Ontario. After working on the frontline with youth, adults, and families she returned to the University of Waterloo where she obtained her Masters of Social Work from Renison University College as well as a Masters of Arts in Recreation and Leisure Studies. She is registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Meghan’s ability to genuinely connect with youth, adolescents, adults, and families continues to be one of her strengths and she looks forward to working with you if given the opportunity. Meghan has experience as a psychotherapist treating clients with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, coping and adjustment challenges, and people in dependency or mental health crisis. She can also help people experiencing health-related anxiety, social anxiety, and panic disorder. If you are a survivor of trauma Meghan can help come up with a treatment plan that you are comfortable with. Meghan is certified in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and has trained extensively in EMDR, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Meghan has a genuine ability to build rapport in an authentic manner and will take time to get to know you and the challenges you are facing. Meghan believes that the most important goal of therapy is the one the people set for themselves. She will walk alongside you to develop an alliance of support while you overcome challenges, achieve success, and address the goals you set.
