International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women is November 25th. This year’s theme focuses on digital violence. Online and digital spaces should empower women and girls. Yet every day, the digital world has become a minefield of harassment, abuse, and control. Support is available. Ask your healthcare provider or reach out locally to or the Ontario Provincial Police. There is for online abuse.

This National Men’s Day, we’re shining a light on the importance of understanding how dementia affects men differently.

Research shows that:
• Men have a higher risk of mild cognitive impairment (Brodaty et al., 2013).
• Depression in men is often underdiagnosed due to social expectations (Emslie & Hunt, 2009).
• Androgen deprivation therapy for prostate cancer has been linked to a higher risk of dementia (Jayadevappa et al., 2019).

Recognizing these differences helps improve care, early detection, and support for everyone affected by dementia.
