It’s no secret that I love Yin Yoga...

I have been practicing Yin regularly since 2013, and teaching since 2015.

It was the missing ingredient I didn’t know I needed:

~ a more passive, relaxed practice when I’m craving slowness

~ the joy of doing less in my body

~ a way to access the ease and softness my system longs for

~ a super accessible form of meditation

~ more space in my joints

~ mobility that lasts beyond the practice itself!

And more than just practicing it, I absolutely LOVE teaching it!

I’m betting that you will too 😉

My 50 Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training is running this winter, starting March 14th!

And it will be the only time I run it IN PERSON this year.

The training runs for 4 full days (on weekends), with additional online content including practices and a complete pose library - yours to access forever!

If you’re a Yoga Teacher or committed student, and would like to add Yin Yoga to your repertoire, I would love to have you join us.

Apply now for this in-person training happening at the gorgeous and cozy Yoga-Riffic studio in Mono!

Please visit my website for information on the curriculum, dates, and tuition fees. We have a limited amount of space in-studio, and the course is capped at 8 participants for a more intimate learning experience.

This in-person training begins March 14th, 2026, apply now to see if it’s a good fit for you!

Or message me to connect about it. See you on the mat 🙏🏻

This Friday I’m playing for you!

Although I’m not the biggest fan of Winter 🥶 I always look forward to the Winter Solstice and season of Yule.

For me, it symbolizes the peak low in our energy, the Sun’s radiance, and the Earth’s nourishment.

The darkest time of the year however, holds so much potency for our inner development.

This is why I love to go inward at this time ~ through sound, breath, movement and meditation ~ and lean into the lessons of the darkness, of death, and of rebirth through transformation.

How I feel at this time of year helps me better understand my capacity, where I’ve been in integrity with my values and intentions, and how I can better caretake my body and my energy 🥰

So before I go dark for a couple weeks, I would love for you to join me for my final offering of 2025:

Winter Solstice: Candlelight Sound Bath Meditation
this Friday, December 19th
7-9pm
at Yoga-Riffic in Mono (713289 1st Line EHS)
$40 +hst per person

There are still a few spots remaining! Register now to save yours, or DM me for more information.

Hope you’ll join me in the dark this Friday 🕯️

Our Story

Kala Yoga was founded by Jason and Laurin in January of 2016, as a result of many amazing events lining up in just the right way. They had dreamed of opening a yoga studio someday in the distant future, but when the opportunity was presented to them, they just had to say yes!

Before opening the Studio, Jason and Laurin had sold all their possessions and traveled for nearly two years through Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia. Living as nomads, they met many beautiful people, lived with peoples of all different backgrounds and cultures, and spent most of their time in nature. They carried all that they possessed on their backs and lived very simply as they traveled, gaining a real appreciation for how little people actually need to be happy and well.

When they returned to Canada, the transition was much more difficult than they anticipated. From living in some of the poorest countries in the world, and then coming back to somewhere so privileged, it was a shock to the system. They came back different people from when they left, and it was very clear that they couldn’t return to their old lifestyle. Laurin began teaching yoga wherever she could, and Jason began to explore music facilitation, sound healing, and keynote speaking. Then they were both approached by Michelle, the owner of Parivartan, and the prospect of owning a yoga studio!

It just felt right. Everything was aligning for this to happen in a beautiful way. On January 1st of 2016, Parivartan became Kala Yoga, and so far it has been an amazing journey! Kala thrives because of the wonderful community that supports it, including the many staff and students who practice there.
