National Hospice Palliative Care Week | May 3–9, 2026

This year’s theme, Palliative Care Everywhere, highlights the importance of ensuring everyone has access to compassionate, high-quality palliative care—wherever they live and wherever care is needed.

Palliative care supports the whole person and their family, focusing on comfort, dignity, and quality of life throughout a serious illness.

At the Couchiching Ontario Health Team, we recognize the importance of equitable access to this care and thank all those who support patients and families in our community.

On Red Dress Day, and every day, we honour the lives and legacies of Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2SLGBTQI+ people (MMIWG2S), by listening to their stories and commemorating their strength and spirits.

We stand in solidarity with the families and communities who continue in the pursuit of justice, healing, and change.

International Day of the Midwife | May 5, 2026

This year’s theme, IDM 2026: Our moment to be heard, highlights the vital role midwives play in supporting women, newborns, and families around the world.

Midwives are essential healthcare providers who deliver safe, respectful, and high-quality care. On this important day, we join the global call for stronger midwifery education, leadership, and resourcing—because when midwives thrive, communities thrive.

We also proudly recognize our trusted Primary Care Network partners at Orillia Midwives and Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin , whose compassionate care makes a meaningful difference for families across our community.
