The Holding Space provides a container for the journey of raising a family. It begins when a Mother comes to prenatal yoga. Comforted by being amongst other Mothers journeying on a similar path, she is able to create friendship and community for the future. She is able to share what she is afraid of and what she is looking forward to. She is able to prepare her body and mind for birth. The opportunity to hire a doula, a birth coach, is available to her at The Holding Space. After she births her baby she is able to come back and continue the journey with Mom and Baby yoga, where she can begin to heal and regain strength and ownership of her body. She can once again hear the words of other Mothers saying “I can relate.” She can continue with crawlers and tots and preschool yoga programs when the days are long. The time will come when she is able to go to a class on her own. To rejuvenate and sweat out what being a parent means. Eventually allowing her child to practice yoga themselves in the kids’ yoga program we offer called Little Warriors. In this program we offer levels of achievement, which we have named ‘lotus levels’ so it becomes a program kids can participate in like swimming, karate or dance. The whole family can participate in the family yoga classes The Holding Space provides as an intergenerational activity. As the children grow, they can participate in the tween and teen programs that focus on emotional inquiry, confidence and leadership. It is a space where cycles occur. Where the journey is celebrated. Where we hold space for each other to feel life.
