When life feels full, it’s easy to move through the days on autopilot — doing, coping, managing.
Calm Waters is an afternoon designed to help you pause, breathe, and gently care for your mental and emotional well-being.

This two-hour session offers simple, supportive practices that help regulate the nervous system and bring clarity to the mind — gentle movement, calming breathwork, restorative postures, and guided meditation with hot stones.

You’ll leave feeling clearer, steadier, and more at ease, with a few tools to carry that calm forward.

Tomorrow — Sunday, October 19 | 1:00–3:00 PM
$50 | $40 for members

A few spaces remain — you’re warmly invited to join.

We tend to think spiritual growth means becoming someone wiser, calmer, more elevated. But over time, I’ve realized it’s really a softening — a letting go of needing to be anyone at all. This quote always reminds me that the most genuine awakening is profoundly ordinary.

🕊”Do not think that enlightenment is going to make you special, it’s not. If you feel special in any way, then enlightenment has not occurred. I meet a lot of people who think they are enlightened and awake simply because they have had a very moving spiritual experience. They wear their enlightenment on their sleeve like a badge of honour. They sit among friends and talk about how awake they are while sipping coffee at a cafe. The funny thing about enlightenment is that when it is authentic, there is no one to claim it. Enlightenment is very ordinary; it is nothing special. Rather than making you more special, it is going to make you less special. It plants you right in the centre of a wonderful humility and innocence. Everyone else may or may not call you enlightened, but when you are enlightened the whole notion of enlightenment and someone who is enlightened is a big joke. I use the word enlightenment all the time; not to point you toward it but to point you beyond it. Do not get stuck in enlightenment.”(Adyashanti)

✨️ Inner Spaciousness
Freedom | Moksha ✨️

Thank you to everyone who joined practice this morning — your presence and energy created such a beautiful shared space.

Today we explored spaciousness — the way breath expands within us, the way awareness widens when we soften our grip on effort.
In those quiet moments at the end of class, when body and mind dissolve into stillness, we may catch a glimpse of moksha — inner freedom.

Moksha doesn’t mean escaping life, but rather being fully present within it — unbound by our stories, our fears, or our striving. Through practice, we learn to return again and again to that vast inner sky where nothing is missing and nothing is held too tightly.

🕉️ May your day unfold from that spacious place.

Last month, while I was away, Jenn welcomed Vicki Hartley to the shala for a beautiful sound bath session — and the response was incredible. So many of you shared how deeply held, grounded, and renewed you felt in her presence.

I'm happy to announce that Vicki is returning this month to guide us into autumn’s gentle inward shift — with the resonance of crystal bowls, chimes, and healing vibration to support stillness, peace, and alignment.

Come rest. Come receive. Come return to yourself.

✨ Your body. Your practice. Your pace. ✨

One of my specialties is working with clients in midlife and beyond — people who want to feel strong, steady, and at ease in their bodies.

Many of my private students come to me while navigating injury, recovery, or burnout. Together, we create practices that build strength, mobility, balance, and calm — always paced to meet their unique needs.

Private sessions are more than movement on the mat — they’re about building confidence, finding support, and carrying those benefits into daily life. 🌿

👉 This is for you if you’re ready to invest in your well-being and want a practice that truly supports your stage of life.

This season, I have space to welcome a small number of new private clients. If you’re interested in exploring this kind of supportive practice, I’d love to connect.

08/17/2025

Yoga is the art of returning — to breath, to body, to the still place within. I’m not interested in yoga as performance.
Not in how it looks, not in how far you can bend, not in chasing perfection.

I’m interested in what happens when you arrive in presence.
In the way the breath steadies, the body softens, and the mind begins to quiet.
In what unfolds when practice is sincere.

Yoga is different here.
It isn’t a stage, it’s a sanctuary.
A place to return — to yourself and to what is.

We’ve been back in the shala for two weeks now. Many of you have already returned, and the space feels alive again. If you haven’t come back yet, this is your invitation. Your mat is waiting, and the practice will meet you right where you are.

“Now, the practice of yoga begins.”
