In Memory of Alix Cénatus

Peacefully and surrounded by love, Alix Cénatus has left this life to be reunited with his parents, Denise and Raymond Cénatus, and his sister Margaret.

Born in Port-au-Prince, Alix lived a life marked by creativity, curiosity, and a deep love for mechanics and electronics.

From an early age, Alix showed a remarkable talent for building and creating. As a child, he drew and built small toys, displaying the inventive spirit and mechanical mind that would stay with him throughout his life. He had a natural curiosity for how things worked and spent many years enjoying mechanics, electronics, and fixing things with his hands.

Alix had a vibrant personality and was often the life of the party. He loved to tell stories, make people laugh, and share memories and experiences with those around him. Whether among family, friends, or coworkers, he was known for his presence, his sense of humour, and his ability to keep a conversation going for hours.

Earlier in life, Alix drove a school bus before later becoming a bus driver with OC Transpo, where he spent many years working and serving the community.

He leaves behind his children, Cynthia (Philip), Alexandre, Patrice, and Charmaly; his beloved grandchildren, Victor and William; and his siblings, Marie Carmelle (late Claude), Raymonde (Claude), Ginette, Eddy (Marjory), Danielle, and Marjorie. He will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute for their care, compassion, and support during this difficult time.

Visitation will occur at Heritage Funeral Complex in Orleans from 9:00AM to 10:15AM, June 2, 2026 followed by funeral services at Paroisse St. Joseph in Orleans at 11:00AM. A reception will follow the church services.

A private interment will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that a donation be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

In Memory of Susan Elizabeth Guarda

It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Susan (Sue) Guarda (nee Tweddle) on May 29 after a 37-year battle with cancer. She died peacefully surrounded by her husband Bob and immediate family.

Sue lived life to the fullest – she was fun loving, adventurous and free spirited. She loved being around people and others were drawn to her like a magnet. She was caring, honest and down-to-earth always putting others around her at ease. She had a big heart and had an outsized impact on everyone around her. She accepted, loved and forgave unconditionally.

Growing up, Sue was the second of five children raised in a close-knit family dedicated to the community. She had a full and boisterous childhood. Sue followed in her parents’ footsteps, actively contributing to the community in many ways and formed many deep, long-lasting friendships along the way. Like her parents, she was a civic leader in her own right.

In Memory of Yvan Lachapelle

Yvan Lachapelle passed away peacefully at the age of 69 on the morning of Tuesday, May 12th, 2026.

He grew up in northern Ontario in the Temiskaming region before moving to Ottawa to pursue further education and start his adult life. He went on to work as a technician at Algonquin College and went on to work as a professor at La Cité Collégiale until his retirement. He liked to share some of his experiences from the north (camping, fishing, hunting, nature) with his family and friends which provided an interesting contrast with city living and many great experiences.

Yvan loved music, video games, tinkering, camping, BBQ, lobster, travelling, and spending time with family and friends. He was a man of many talents and was always happy to lend people a helping hand.

Yvan will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Shirley; his 3 children: Martin, Daniel and Julie, and his grand-daughter, Ella-Ève.

Yvan was predeceased by his father, Paul-Émile and his brother Alain. He is survived by his mother, Gracia; sister Éliane (Linda) and brother Guy (Hélène, Alex).

He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Friends may attend a celebration of life at the Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Road, Ottawa (Orléans) on Friday, June 12th, from 13:00 to 16:00 with Words of Remembrance at 2 p.m.

In Memory of Manon Fradette

It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Manon Doris Fradette, who left us peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the age of 53, in Ottawa, Ontario.

Born on July 28, 1972, Manon brought an abundance of light, joy, and laughter into the world. More than anything, Manon was proud of her son, Alex Hetherington, who meant the world to her.

As the youngest child and only daughter of Normand and Nicole Fradette, she held a uniquely cherished place in her family’s hearts. She was a deeply loved sister to her brothers, Daniel (Allison), Cal (Nicole), and Sylvain.

Although the family lived in Quebec, Nova Scotia, Alberta, and Ontario, Manon spent most of her childhood growing up in Ottawa, where she later became involved in developing a very successful family business. Known for her immense love of family, her big heart, and her bright smile, she built a life filled with strong family connections and friendships, all of whom will be deeply affected by her sudden passing.

Manon was predeceased by her beloved newborn son, Nicholas, and may their reunion bring her peace.

She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by her son Alex; her parents; her brothers and their wives; her many nieces and nephews; and a wide circle of extended family and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation in Manon’s honor to a charity of your choosing.

The Fradette family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation and unwavering respect to all the staff in the ICU at the Ottawa Hospital (General Campus) who cared for Manon during her final days.

In Memory of Bernard Létourneau

In Memory of Edith Jarbeau
