Story of one of my relatives
One of my relatives went through severe anxiety and depression during Covid (2020 and 2021). He had severe panic attacks, shortness of breath, palpitating and sweating and couldn’t sleep for months. He tried every psychiatrist and psychologist and one of the psychiatrist even I took him to. He was counselled by many and took medicines for a year. But not much difference. The condition remained same.
Alhamdulilah today, he’s back to normal, functioning better than before, relaxed and happy. What did he do? He did lots and lots and lots of zikr. He made zikr his top priority and habit. Today he does zikr most of the times when he’s free and while driving etc. He memorised all names of Allah. And he himself told me all these is what took him out of a miserable state.
Conclusion:
- This is not a fairy tale but a tale that happened infront of my eyes. He’s my close relative.
- I know the importance and effectiveness of counseling and medicines. I’ve read clinical psychology, abnormal psychology and lots of other course in my psychology degree. So I know the science of medicines and counseling.
- Zikr is very powerful and literally has physical effects. Allah called Quran “shifa”. Don’t underestimate the power of zikr.
