When Joe approached me with the idea of performing for the residents, my immediate response was a resounding yes. However, he made me promise to properly advertise the event to ensure everyone would know about it. To kick off our promotional efforts, I suggested a photoshoot of him holding his beloved accordion, which would serve as the perfect image for our posters.
Highlighting the abilities of our residents is a humbling experience. Each day, we serve them, yet we often overlook the incredible gifts they possess. It’s essential to ask the right questions, invest the necessary time, and, most importantly, celebrate their accomplishments. By sharing their stories and acknowledging their journeys, we gain a deeper understanding of who they are, allowing us to appreciate the richness of their experiences and the resilience that defines them.
