Can Stay Fit CanStayFit is a nonprofit that supports the health and fitness needs of marginalized communities.

Begin Your Journey to Health & Fitness with CanStayFit, a non-profit organization that is focused on supporting the health and fitness needs of marginalized communities (Black, Indigenous, Visible minorities, Youth, Seniors, and Newcomers). We aim to improve overall wellness for all people but primarily the BIPOC communities and other marginalized groups in Toronto and Durham Region who are often underrepresented and underserved within the health and fitness industry. CanStayFit was created to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion in health, fitness, and nutrition.

Had a great time last Friday at the 3-on-3 tournament. Salute to and his team for this well organized and enjoyable event. It was good to see the community come out and support. This tournament raised funds to support the excellent work that they are doing with young people from all backgrounds. Check them out, and please consider supporting their initiatives.

My favorite part of having my own platform is to highlight the people who are making a positive impact with our youth.

Please remember, when you are lifting weights, it's more important to focus on good form and technique than the amount of weight you are using. This can reduce the likelihood of injuries while helping you get functionally stronger in a safer manner.

Happy Monday. Don't forget the cardio!

Most people should aim to get around 30 minutes of moderate cardiovascular activity at least five days each week. This works out to around 150 minutes or 2 1/2 hours per week. You can mix up intensities and activities to keep it interesting.

If you’re new to activity, start short and slow. You can always build as your fitness level improves. Remember: Any movement is better than no movement.

If you’re pressed for time, consider breaking up your exercise throughout the day into several 10-minute chunks. Even short sessions of aerobic exercise are enough to reap the benefits.
