Happy Hanukkah!

As the Festival of Lights begins, Therapeutic Recreation Ontario celebrates with our Jewish community and all who honour this meaningful tradition.

Hanukkah reminds us of resilience, hope, and the strength that comes from community—values that guide our work in creating inclusive recreation spaces. This season, we reaffirm our commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) by ensuring individuals of all cultural and spiritual backgrounds feel seen, respected, and supported in their therapeutic recreation experiences.

Wishing everyone celebrating a season filled with warmth, light, and connection.

December 3rd marks International Day of Persons With Disabilities. A day to celebrate inclusion and advocate for equality worldwide.

As Recreation Therapists, we must address the disparities in access to inclusive recreational spaces due to physical, social and systemic barriers. By fostering environments that prioritize accessibility, equity and belonging, we can ensure everyone has the opportunity to benefit from recreation and leisure. Let's work together to build spaces and communities where all abilities are embraced and celebrated.
