There are three things that I am most passionate about in this world: God, family and all things beauty. Having experimented with many different products and ingredients for as long as I have known myself, I am enthused about this platform to share my very own line of natural hair and skin products.
I am originally from the beautiful island of Jamaica however my family and I moved to Canada for greater opportunities. Things were different here in Canada and we had to adapt to the difference in the climate of both countries which significantly affected my hair and skin. In Canada (which can gets as cold as -40 degrees *screams*) my hair and skin became very dry and brittle. This was new to us and as long as I have known myself maintaining healthy hair and skin was very important to me. Here in Canada my skin would very get dry, scaly and ashy.
Needless to say, I was extremely concerned. I would seek help from local friends who would look at me and say “It’s Canada, yes it gets very dry here. Just keep applying lotion”. This never worked and I would still get dry to the point where my skin would break (I was not happy with this). The products that I purchase from the stores did nothing to help the situation. Then it clicked, “Renae go back to your roots". Yes, I went way back to when we (my blood line) would make medicine, hair & skin oils and treatments etc; from plants, seeds, trees etc. So, I went back to my ancestors' blueprint. Upon experimenting with a few ingredients that I put together, I realised that my hair and skin responded nicely to this combination of natural ingredients that I formulated.
I therefore started creating my own products and after several months of using my very own products, there was a positive change in the health of my hair and skin. My hair flourished and my skin was glowing again (yes this made me happy!). I therefore saw it fit to expand my studies in this area and started to manufacture and distribute the products to family and friends. I got positive feedback which inspired me to formally incorporate these products in my company.
