When I was a little girl, my mom was reading the Tarot cards for her friend. She had an Aleister Crowley Thoth deck, and I remember how bright and vivid the colours were. My mom told me they were special cards that could tell you what is going on in a person’s life. My father walked by the table while my mom did her reading, and he asked, “are you getting a divorce?”
My mom was still nose-deep in
the Thoth guide book trying to figure out what the cards in the spread even meant! My mom did another reading afterward, and my father walked by again, and said, “it still says you’re getting divorced.”
A few days later, that friend told my mom that she was divorcing her husband. There is a very romantic notion that Tarot can tell the future, but that’s not entirely accurate. It’s not THE future, but one possible future that could happen, depending on the energy, and the other cards present in the situation. That’s what I love about Tarot; it’s a medium of discovery, of energy working, of advice from the Universe. I'm interested in not only building my Tarot foundation, but building a business as well.
