As a Mind-Body Eating Coach:
I don’t do meal plans and recipes
Or shakes and bars
.
I don’t do exercise plans
Or use physical activity as a way to cancel out overeating, lose weight or control body size
.
I don’t weigh chicken or measure out salad dressing
And I’ll never tell you how many grams of carbs to eat
.
I don’t do cheat days
And I’ll never tell you to not keep chocolate in the house
.
I don’t vilify emotional eating or binge eating
Or see it as a sign of failure or lack of willpower
.
I don’t pathologize your extra weight
Or see it as a sign you’re unhealthy, a failure, or lazy
.
I’ll never tell you to weigh daily or weekly
In fact, we may just ditch the scale completely
.
I don’t consider post eat guilt or self-criticism a motivating tool for success
And I’ll don’t believe that “some” shame can be healthy
.
So if I don’t do 👆 - What do I do, as a Mind-Body Eating Coach?
Well...
I do see weight challenges as a doorway that can lead us anywhere…
-->Into diet, food & nutrition, the medical realm, our past, all kinds of work on self…
-->Into how we do relationships, our experience of love, spirituality, work, sexuality, who we are as human beings, our purpose, and so much more.
-->And it’s my belief that it’s something to be explored only if YOU want to explore it.
.
I do use nutritional principles to help get to the bottom of unwanted symptoms and behaviors (overeating, binge eating, emotional eating, fatigue, digestive issues, aches and pains, mobility, slow metabolism)
-->Like experimenting with macronutrient balance to find the right ratio of protein, healthy fats, and carbohydrate
.
I also use internal body wisdom as a powerful tool that you can leverage to know when to eat, what to eat, and how much
.
I do use slow, relaxed eating to create more pleasurable food experiences, better digestion, assimilation of nutrients, and metabolism
.
I do use circadian rhythm as a tool (eating most of your food when the sun is highest)
.
I do subscribe to the idea that the “dose makes the poison” when it comes which foods to moderate and which to avoid completely
.
I do explore the top food allergies / sensitivities - gluten, dairy, soy, corn, egg it makes sense to do so
.
I do incorporate movement into daily life that brings you joy (even if it feels a little gritty) and helps move stress through and out the body.
.
I do show you how to embrace and find the brilliance in your emotional eating. I show you how to do it with intention and curiosity, (you’re doing it anyways, right?) so you can figure out what you’re truly hungry for.
.
I do teach you how to tap into the inner Queen, who’s unapologetic about her body, and knows her worth, value, beauty, has ZERO to do with looks or size
.
I do use unconditional body love and body (re)connection practices, to help you feel good IN your body and ABOUT your body
.
I do work with language and to RE-language. Words and how we speak to ourselves matter:
“Cheat, willpower, weak, should, shouldn’t…”
.
I do flag toxic nutritional beliefs and the harm that they do - “food, my appetite, fat in food and on my body - are the enemy”, “less food + more exercise = less weight”…
.
I do call out poisonous perfectionism and the underlying belief that we’ll be happy when we have the perfect body and perfect diet
.
I do support my clients from a lens of love, kindness, compassion and curiosity (and if you ask my clients, a little bit of fun / humour too 🤪)
.
