If you’ve been looking for a sign here it is! It is though, really. I think it’s time that we all start cutting ourselves some slack. Stop guilting ourselves out because we haven’t accomplished “x” goal by “x” age, that we aren’t as polished or perfect, or that most dreaded phrase of all, as successful as someone else.

There is no end goal to strive towards. Embrace whatever chaos you’re going through, take care of what needs caring for - you are at the top of that list - and enjoy the ride for what it is. Life is short. Stop running yourself ragged over all the details. Find time today to just appreciate where you are at.

No matter what, there is always something to be grateful for. I remember years ago when my kids were small and they both had chicken pox. It was not pretty. I was exhausted and felt so done. In the midst of it I took a minute to write an entry in my gratitude journal. What in the world was I grateful for?? I was grateful that they would only have chicken pox once lol. Life is crazy, messy, brutal and it is also heartbreakingly beautiful beyond words. Focus on the good stuff, let the painful stuff move through you and let it go. You’ve got this, everything is going to be ok. ✨

Life is beautiful, but it can also be demanding, stressful, and heartbreaking. Each and every one of us has pain that we are quietly dealing with.

The holistic world view is one in which all aspects are considered. Dis-ease is merely the movement away from a place of ease within the body, the mind, or the soul. Healing becomes a partnership between the person being healed, source energy, and the healing facilitator to remove any blockages or obstructions to health allowing balance to return.

If you are feeling more stressed out than happy and cannot seem to get back to a state of balance, please do not suffer silently. There is hope. Take the first step towards wholeness. You too deserve to be well on all levels. ✨

The greatest gift meditation brings is clarity. We are all guilty of taking a problem and letting it simmer in our minds until it gains catastrophic proportions.

Every single issue that plagues us and causes us to suffer begins in our minds. Issues become cause for anxiety when we allow the mind to run wildly with fear and to play out every worse case scenario.

When we apply mindfulness we gain clarity and balance. We calm our overactive minds down and can then decide what action if any to take.
The insurmountable issue then becomes manageable. We reclaim our breath and inner peace.

Mindfulness is not some esoteric teaching only available to monks on a mountaintop. Each of us has the ability to sit quietly for 10 minutes a day and to simply watch our thoughts drift by like clouds in the sky.

Detach from your troubling thoughts, breathe and watch the magic transform your life. ✨

Happy Earth Day! I was vegetarian for 24 years thinking that I was doing my part for our planet. Then one day 12 years ago I watched Vegucated on Netflix. I was astounded and heartbroken by what I learned. I immediately chose to become vegan that day and haven’t turned back despite nonstop commentary from family. I strongly urge you to spend this Earth Day sitting on your couch and watching some films that will do far more than picking up some trash. Watch: What the Health, Cowspiracy, Forks over Knives, Vegucated. You will learn how and why your dietary choices have far more reaching implications than your personal health. We are all in this together. We are stewards of this beautiful planet we call home and of all of her inhabitants. It is time that we awaken to the fact that we need to awaken collectively and make changes. EVERY person who chooses to become vegan is making a major difference - every person...so don’t think that you can’t effect change. Vegan for life! ❤️

Earth day is every day. Our beautiful Mother Earth is a living, breathing being. What happens to our bodies when we fill them with poison? They purge themselves or they die. We are the ones poisoning the Earth.

We cannot wait for some multinational corporation or government to save the Earth, each of us is responsible to do our share. We can do this by looking to our ancestors and the way they lived. Reduce, reuse, recycle is not just a catchy slogan, but a way of life. Before you reach for the latest fashion, maybe have a clothing swap with your friends, shop marketplace or vintage stores. Plant a garden, swap your surplus with fellow gardeners. Doing renovations? Search local online buy and sell groups or go to a local habitat store to donate your surplus or find what you need. Plant trees! Shower for hygiene, meditate or relax in nature for relaxation instead of taking a half hour shower. Create a menu for a week or two, write a grocery list and shop once. Eat seasonally and shop your local farmer’s markets for what you don’t grow. The greatest impact you can make as an individual is at the end of your fork.
Cattle farming leads to deforestation especially of rainforests. A plant-based diet not only improves your health, but helps protect Mother Earth.

While breathing is done through the autonomic nervous system and doesn’t require active participation from us, it is especially important during times of stress to actively breathe. When we are stressed we may find ourselves holding our breath. Then we suddenly remember to breathe and let out a big sigh followed by a deep breath. We also breathe very shallowly. The importance of breathing more deeply cannot be overstated. The upper parts of our lungs are connected to our sympathetic nervous system. This is the system that is responsible for the fight or flight response. Our lower lungs are connected to the parasympathetic nervous system, where ALL healing takes place. If we continue to breathe shallowly, we are keeping our bodies in the fight or flight state. Take time throughout the day to bring yourself back to your breath and to consciously breathe deeply. The state of your mind and your breath cannot be disconnected. When the breath is shallow the mind is agitated. Deep breathing calms the mind. ✨
