We believe that people are worthy of human dignity and respect, and deserve the support to maintain quality of life and independence within their community. We believe that people deserve a caring environment, which promotes a personal responsibility towards a healthy existence. We believe that people working in partnership with a collaborative spirit through volunteer service, is the best method for providing a social support system of services to assist in the individual attaining a level of personal well-being. Such a system then is: consumer centered, well coordinated, resource sensitive, well planned, accountable, equitably accessible and offers an array of services directed towards optimizing and maintaining quality of well-being for individuals within their community. Our purpose is to manage and deliver Ministry of Health approved services to eligible seniors and physically challenged adults within Grey and Bruce Counties, including the City of Owen Sound. The services we provide are to assist clients in maintaining their independence within their community and daily lives.

Who doesn’t love ice cream for morning snack? 🍨

Well… maybe mashed potatoes disguised as sundaes had a few folks doing a second look! 😆

Our Shoreline (Port Elgin) program had some April Fools’ fun, while East Grey (Markdale) rolled out a hilariously suspicious daily schedule. Safe to say that pranks were successfully achieved! ✅😂

🚗🥗 March for Meals in action! 🥗🚗

We were thrilled to snap a pic of Mayor Milt McIver of the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula out in the Lion’s Head area, proudly delivering Meals on Wheels alongside dedicated volunteer Carolyn 💪💛
This is what March for Meals is all about... community leaders, volunteers, and local partners coming together to support neighbours through nutritious meals and friendly check-ins all month long 🍽️😊
A big thank-you to Bear Tracks Inn and Restaurant our meal provider in Lion’s Head, for helping make these deliveries possible 🙌

🐣🎨 When they say “no age limit,” we take that seriously! 🎨🐣

The folks at Stay Awhile Homes announced a community colouring contest in the area... and since there was no age limit, East Grey Day Away jumped right in! 😄

Our HCSS Day Away clients proudly put their colouring skills to work, Easter creativity was flowing, and even decorated up their very own Easter-themed tree 🌸🐇

Are our clients children?
❌ Nope.
Are most of them seniors?
✅ Absolutely.
Do they colour with confidence and competitive spirit when there’s an Easter basket on the line?
💯 YOU BET THEY DO.

This was all about fun, community spirit, and proving you’re never too old for pencil crayons and a little friendly competition 💜

Thank you to Stay Awhile Homes for bringing the community together and fingers crossed for that Easter basket! 🤞🥚🐰

Nothing delivers community like Meals on Wheels ❤️

Last week in the Municipality of Kincardine , Mayor Kenneth Craig joined Julie (one of our fantastic volunteers), and another Julie (our wonderful Manager of our Meals on Wheels program) on our meal delivery route, taking the time to stop, chat, and share a few smiles along the way. Client Fern enjoyed a great visit... proof that Meals on Wheels is about so much more than just a meal 🍲💬

A huge THANK YOU to The Bruce Kincardine for being a long‑time Meals on Wheels provider and a true community champion 👏🥩 We’re so grateful to Craig Kirkconnell and the entire team for helping nourish our neighbors, one delivery at a time.

We were thrilled to hit the road with Jay Kirkland, Mayor of the Town of South Bruce Peninsula , alongside David, one of our amazing HCSS Meals on Wheels volunteers 🚗🥣,and of course, to spend time with Bob, one of the coolest HCSS clients around 😎👏

March for Meals is all about celebrating the incredible impact of Meals on Wheels and the difference a warm meal (and a friendly visit!) can make. From small towns to larger communities, this program is strengthening connections and supporting independence across Grey and Bruce Counties ❤️🏡

🍀 St. Patrick’s Day fun at East Grey (Markdale)! 🍀

Our HCSS clients at the East Grey (Markdale) Day Away program had an absolute blast celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a big game of Pictionary! 🎨🖊️ Laughter filled the room as creativity, teamwork, and a little friendly competition came together for a fun-filled afternoon. 😄

It was wonderful to see everyone so engaged, expressive, and full of smiles — a perfect way to celebrate the luck of the Irish! 💚✨

🚓🥗 March for Meals in action!
Last week, Owen Sound Police Chief Craig Ambrose joined us for a special ride‑along with our incredible volunteer Elwood. Elwood is one of the amazing people who shows up time and time again to make sure neighbours receive more than a meal, but genuine care and connection 💙👏

Chief Ambrose jumped right in alongside Elwood, helping deliver Meals on Wheels and proudly supporting a program that makes a real difference in our community. ❤️

🥗🚗 March for Meals with HCSS Grey Bruce! 🚗🥗
March is March for Meals, and we’re excited to shine a spotlight on the incredible people who make Meals on Wheels happen right here in our community. 💙

This week, we were joined in Hanover by Mayor Sue Patterson, who helped deliver meals alongside our wonderful volunteers Karen, Betty, Laurel, and Sue. A special moment from the day included delivering a meal to client Ruth, who welcomed the Mayor and Betty at her doorstep.
A HUGE thank you goes out to Karen, who drove all the way from Mildmay to bring the meals up for local delivery. That extra effort ensures that clients in Hanover receive fresh, nutritious meals right to their homes. We appreciate you so much! 🙌
And of course, we want to give a big community shout‑out to Harleys Pub and Perk in Mildmay for preparing these delicious meals. Your support is essential to the success of this program, and we are so grateful. 🍽️💛
